Hey all. Boy I tell ya, I had one heck of a day. I went and woke up my daughter to get ready for school, she was getting ready for school and I was looking around for some strong medicine for a massive headache I had. Then the phone rings. I figured it was my little brother in law because he's the only one who calls that early in the morning. I look at the caller ID and it said State of SD(which means from some state government office of some sort). So I was puzzled. I answer and its my husband!!! I'm like why aren't you at work?? Where are you?? He then tells me he's in jail. He got pulled over for speeding and when the officer ran his licsence there was a warrant for his arrest! I didn't know what to think. And this week we are extremely low on money because he's been missing work lately. And he tells me I need to come down and bail him out! I had to clean out our checking account for the bail. Freaking out I go down there to bail him out. Thinking he's probably going to get fired, not knowing whats really going on. Turns out the warrant was issued over 2 years ago! For a bad check that was wrote around 3 or 4 years ago, that we had cleared up awhile ago! Or so we thought we did! So now he has to go to court in another city on Thursday(where the warrant was issued). And its going to cost us alot of money we dont have! I'm still going out of my mind about it. How would you guys like to get this wake up call? lol

Date: 4/9/2002 10:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 27046    I hope you saved the receipts to show that you paid that check off. It makes me wonder I have a bill for $100 from a bank that I refuse to pay. I left $40 PLUS in the account. They had a monthly fee of $8.50 to maintain the account monthly so you figure they had roughly enough for 5 months right? No activity on this account...they stopped sending me statements and I assumed they had closed it cause they took all the money.....NOT....they hit it THREE months and charged me $30 for insufficient fees everytime they went to get their money and after three months they shut it down. I get on the phone with them and they tell me that they don't shut accounts down that I had to come in and do it. I said is the account still active...she tells me no, I said well obviously you close them down. What I don't understand is if there was no activity on the account for FIVE months and then comes the 6th month and they go to take the fees...WHY they didn't close it because the money wasn't there. I mean isn't that the general idea of charging the $8.50 a month to MAINTAIN the account? I mean if you stop paying your rent they kick you out right? So I refuse to pay it, I wonder if there is a warrant out for me...LOL
Date: 4/9/2002 10:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 35629    Oh man that is terrible i am so sorry what a way to wake up.Ya must be from Texas it seems at least one of three people are getting picked up for hot checks around here.lol Hope that i do not have any old ones floating around.:)Goodluck and i hope they clear him.
Date: 4/9/2002 10:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 30229    What is sad about this is that if YOU had a check written by THEM, and you didnt cash it for a year, it would be NO good... Now if he writes a check that isnt good, then now, 4 years later.. WHAM.. they can STILL get him.. fair huh? I am sorry you are having to go through this.. I hope everything turns out okay for him.. huggggs..

Date: 4/24/2002 6:06:00 PM  From Authorid: 12862    Sis, I had that happen to me also. My oldest hit a deer and I called the Sherrifs office to go check on her before I got there. They were closer then I was. When I get there, the deputy starts laughing and says he has to take ME in cause there was an OLD warrant for me. LMBO! It was for a bad check that I took care of 2 yrs before. I thought it was so funny cause the deputies know me and never arrested me before, that I even was still laughing when they took my mug shot! The deputy and I both thought it was funny. Hugs and Love,
