I think it is wrong to keep secrets from us. I mean, we should have as much right to know as the government officials, right? Or isnt this an equal country? I would want to know if we had a alien in captivity or not. Why? I want to know things. If they hide everything from us, than we arent realy being free to express our opinion are we? |

In a word YES. The Government is our EMPLOYEE, not our PARENT. The Government is US, not THEM. Is it wrong for the government to be allowed to experiment on unsuspecting citizens with biological and chemical weapons without their informed consent? Well, they CAN and the DO. Since when did we become the PROPERTY of the government? The government is the prpoerty of the citizens. it is accountable to the citizens. There are checks and balances which serve to keep the govt form becoming a dictatorship. but slowly, one little amendment and law at a time, they are wittling it all away. You don't have to believe it. But then, we don't have to accept it either. WE THE PEOPLE....not WE the government. JMO Peace, |

I dont want to know whats going on. I know that it would probably be very interesting, but I have to be realistic. Im already paranoid enough, I dont need to know anything else! |

Hon, I've been saying this for years, that the government doesnt tell us everything. That there is so much that the government does it would amaze you. Do they tell us the truth? NOt hardly. |

i personally think yes some stuff should be kept out of media so other countries dont use it against us now simple things they hide like how they pay the tobacco industry then they dont need to be hiding it |

I think they should withhold information when they need to.....not all citizens in this country are level-headed and stable enough to use common sense. If the public heard about something bad that was happening and some "unstable" individuals decided to retaliate in anger, it could cause major problems. I think that if it involes our lives directly, we should have a right to know, but if it doesn't affect my life, and they don't want to tell me, I have no problems with them not telling me. |

Well I keep things from my son at times because I do not want to hurt him or add extra stress to his life and well lets be honest here, if the government told us everything what could we really do about it?. I mean they are spending so much money on what to do if a terrorist attacked our area, well lets face it, there is nothing we could do, If they blow up our bank or school well the deed is done and there is nothing we could do and if they tell us of every threat and so on then no one would go to the bank or to school. see what I mean. The government is in a lose, lose situation, if they tell us everything then people say, why are you telling every little thing and if they don't say anything and something happens then people say, why didn't you tell us? So I guess they are stuck in the middle as is my opinion on this. |
