Well.. I get most of my inspiration from my friends. A lot of my friends have been through tons of hard times and I write about their experince. Sometimes I get it from stranges.. if you read my poems, each one has a story about them. some from personal experince, some from my friends, and some from people I dont even know. Just put your place in someone elses shoes.. you know what I mean? Oh, and sometimes I'll see a movie or hear a song and write about how I would feel if I was that person. Im not saying I take lines from the movie or anything like that though! *hugs* TS |

for poetry, i just write how im feeling. if im sad, i'll write about me being alone and depressed. if i'm happy, i'll write about stars and clouds and nature. if i'm feeling something about a person (hatred, love, jealousy, missing them, ect) ill write about that. or i'll take one of my friend's situation and put myself in her place and write about that. and if i'm not feeling any emotions at the time, then well...i don't write. lol i hate writer's block |

often i use experiences in my life, and try to convey my feelings through words, sometimes i write about past memories too, and sometimes i just write about anything! it all depends on what mood i'm in! |

Sure, when your reading a book, any book, think of how you could do something on the same subject. Think of the changes you might make. Also you have to have the burning desire to write. I have had this since I was really little. Its taken many years to finally do and realize my dream. Seemed like so much got in the way, First it was the kids were to little to really concentrate, then my early computers kept dying on me and I'd have to retype everything. But finally, finally, I got it all together and my first book has now been published. dont ever give up if writing is what you want to do. |

Take a walk thru a nature full (hehe) part of town, meditate, pray, stare at an object which is pleasing to the eye... These all work for me... |

sadly, it is when i'm depressed or angry that i write my most thought provoking stories or poetry...but for some people it's when they're happy. i guess it just varies from person to person....let's see though, inspiration...well my friends (of course!), sometimes if a piece or art, writing or something i see somewhere really makes me feel strongly, one way or another, that inspires me....but the most important part is to find what works for you!!! :-D good luck and much love *melancholy_spirit13* |

Write about something that is important to you.... something that touches you deeply... ask yourself "Why" this particular thing affects you the way it does, and then try to explain it in writing as though you would be answering that particular question to someone else..... |

I'm sorry that I can't be of any help but all I do is just sit down at this keyboard and let the words flow. I wish you well with your writing! Take care, my friend! :) |

Try free-verse poetry. That is my favorite, because whatever you write, it always means something, to you especially, and it's a very expressive way to get your thoughts on paper. It's easier than writing other things, I think personally. ;) Best luck to you! |

well hun, I'm not what you would call a writer, I dabble in a bit of poetry or sometimes a quote, but I'm not really a writer. When I do feel inspired to write a poem it just seems to come to me, cant explain it!!! sometimes when I'm reading something that catches my eye, I think to myself that USM peeps might like to see it as well so I share it with them, I cant offer any advice hun, have a chat with Frankenstein, Kronk or Hey Larry as they are great writers and they may be able to give you some pointers...good luck hun...Zema |
