HOW THE WORLD IS REALLY GOING TO END -- *Mike*   Author:  13886  Category:(Discussion) Created:(5/1/2002 10:16:00 PM) This post has been Viewed (686 times) Nope, sorry all you doomsayers, I don't believe the world is going to end anytime soon. But it will probably end someday. According to something I was watching on the discovery channel, this is how it might end. It's been awhile since I watched it, so I might have a few things wrong, but this is pretty much it: Our Galaxy, the Milky Way, and the closest galaxy to us, are steadily approaching each other, due to the force of the huge black holes towards the center of each galaxy. A long long time in the future, in perhaps two million years or so, the galaxies will collide. There will be massive explosions and catastrophic winds as planets, comets, stars, and asteroids are all slamming into each other all the while the huge black holes are blowing and sucking things in. The earth may be blown by these winds far off into space. Life as we know it would end because it would become much too cold to support life, but the planet itself would survive. Or the Earth may be sucked into one of the black holes. Or it may explode as either it slams into something or something else slams into it. Eventually the two galexies will likely devour each other, and the two black holes will merge and become a single gigantic black hole. All in all very terrifying, but atleast we won't be around to see it.
