Mother has 2 heart attacks before she was rushed to surgery. By the time I got to the hospitol from across the country she was in intensive care on a respirator. She remained on the respirator for ten critical days. By day twelve she was being taken to a room on the step down unit that my sister-in-law and I had lovingly decorated. It was the day of my parents 50th wedding anniversary. When the flash went off as we took pictures Mom became startled and commented that it was like her heart attack. She was still very weak so I did not press her to explain. A month or so later I asked if she had noticed anything else unusual. She sais she remembered feeling especially sorry about advice she had given to a friend several years before and had not thought about for years. The advice was that her friends son should not marry the girl he had gotten pregnant in hight school because they were so young. How it changed my life:The experience makes me bekieve we are answerable for what we say and do in lfe.
