The Prom Dress

This girl wanted to go to prom, but couldnt afford a new dress. So her and her mom went to a second-hand store and found the perfect dress. It was just like new and very pretty. They bought it and she didn't try it on until the night of the prom. The night of the prom, she put it on and went with her boyfriend. She was having alot of fun, but she began feeling very strangely. She told her boyfriend and he came with her to sit down. A few minutes later she was dead.

The family decided to have an auptopsy done. The doctors found embalming fluid (the stuff you put on a body before you bury them, I guess) in her blood. They then checked her dress and found it was coated with embalming fluid. The police checked out the little shop where they bought the dress, which was owned by a mortician. Turns out, the guy stole dresses off the bodies of people who came to his morgue and buried them in cheaper dresses without the families knowing and sold them.

I don't know if it's true, I think it was in a book I read. Let me know if you liked it!! :)

Date: 7/13/2000 5:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 177    I've read a couple variations of this. One of them describes how two sisters were having a dispute over who should have a particular wedding dress that had been in the family for many years. Both sisters were going to be married soon, but neither one wanted to share the dress with the other. As it turned out, one of the sisters unexpectedly took ill & died. The deceased sisters embalmed body was dressed in the wedding gown for her funeral. It had been intended for the dead sister to go to her grave wearing the wedding gown that she would never wear at her wedding. After the service & after the last of the mourners had departed the chapel, the surviving sister greedily stripped the gown from off of her sisters corpse. Glanzing furtively about, she hid the dress under her coat, & closed the coffin lid on the naked and pitifull body of her sister. Well, the sisters wedding day finally arrived. It was a hot summer day as she & her beloved walked down the aisle. As the ceremony began, the young bride began to feel faint & sick. At the crucial moment of the ceremony, when the "I do's" had been recited, the groom slipped the ring onto the young wifes finger. Suddenly she swayed & collapsed into her husbands arms...dead. The embalming fluid from her sisters corpse had soaked into the wedding gown, & in the heat, the young woman absorbed some of it into her own system. A few days later the bride joined her sister in the family plot; but at least she was wearing the prized wedding dress.
Date: 7/13/2000 5:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 177    ...ya know it's a fact, that alot of times, those clothes that people buy at thrift stores belonged to people who died, & whos relatives gave their clothes to the store. I bought a pair of boots once, that looked and felt like the previous owner must have been squashed to death by a steam-roller. Really funky looking boots. Uncomfortable too.
