Give Thanks For Your Broken Heart

Have you ever gave thanks for a broken heart?
Did you ever praise god for a life torn apart?
It's the highest praise your heart can give.
It will set you free.
It will let you live
A life anew
A life that few
Of God's children live,
Those who learned from Him
How to truely give.

They called him a thief and a liar too.
Yet he bore all the worst of what we've been through
And, though some called him an evil man,
His Heavenly Father called him "The Lamb."
He showed us that the power to become
more than what we are
Is by hardship won.

There is wisdom here in this ancient lore.
For life is not about us keeping score.
Its a golden law for you and me
And once it's learned it will set us free.
It's not what we are
But what we can be.
That steers us across
Life's stormy sea.

So give thanks to God for your broken heart.
And praise Him when life falls apart.
And let Him know that its not your will
But His Word you trust . . .
His, "Peace be still."
