whats bugging me? honestly? *Deep breath* Ok here goes....I woke up thismorning to fill my bed with water *waterbed* well see the hose got a bit rowdy with me and well it whiped around the room soaking everything...ok maybe that's a wee bit of an exaggeration....anywho so I think to myself 'self DON'T fill the bed on your own again!' get some towels clean up....then I lord help me CHIP a nail! oh god :( so I fix that ok pain the nails THINK their dry and I get out inca and he's flying all around while mya is squaking his lil feather brain off....INCA chips my PAINT! *throws hands up* and to top it all of there's a beady black bug on my leg! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! *hey you asked what was buggin me ;)*  |

honestly Radman, i dont have a problem with USM. But then again i always seem to miss out on all the stuff that goes on around here. on minute USM land seems peaches and cream; then i log off the an hour or so and when i come back on it seems as USM has turned into the battle field for WW3!! I dont know, i never seem to know whats going on so i am just gonna go along my merry way, enjoy USM and hope i continue to miss out on all the 'bad stuff'!! :) .....  |

well, I think we should have another chat, for the older users on USM, so we don't have to keeps things "as clean" as the other chat. Not X-rated, but a slightly higher rating, where we can speak as adults. A "screen clear" button where if several people click on it, the screen clears, maybe a "block" button that works the same way..in case no admins are present. ADULT chatmins in that chat..I could go on for hours! |

The site in itself? Nothing. Some of the people here, but that's nothing you or i could fix. The rules of the site are clear and understood by almost all and aren't asking much. I don't go into chat too much, therefore I can't make a complaint about it. It honestly comes down to certain people, but I do my part by avoiding them and nothing bad has ever directly effected me, so there's nothing that I can honestly think of that I don't like about USM (the site itself)  |

be prepared admin i feel the need to write a book....i think the biggest thing bugging me is the way that we all seem to forget we're human...(ok you and ginger are aliens but i mean the rest of us) we all hurt, and make mistakes, but i think the one thing bugging me most is knowing that the fighting and sadness is only growing on the site, there is the very real fear that if it doesn't stop that you would be with in your right to close USM....not that i think you would....but i don't like thinking that people would not have the opportunity to gain the friendships i've found...or the love and compassion.....*sighs* I think it's sad that some have forgotten the main purpose of this site is to have fun....and to connect with each other....i know i have....i fell in love because of this site, my life has totally changed because of this site, and so much focus is on negativity right now.....that REALLY upsets me :( i want to see happiness back at USM....:(  |

You all don't realize that USM means so much to many! It's more than "just a message board" it is sometimes the only human contact outside our homes many of us have. Yes, many of us do have a life but it involves all the friends and family also. Many of us genuinely care about each other! I believe in USM and the fear of it going away is bringing tears as I write! Even if the reassurance is there, I worry that all the discord will shut her down. I got to close this comment... |

I love the site and what it brings to the table ie the chance to meet others, share thoughts and feelings and learn from eachother and even make friends.Some of the debates get heated at times, but that's part of the learning/sharing process, as not everyone feels/thinks the same way you do. Well, I have to say that I echo Dreamer Poets reply above. I have been so sad at the meanness and the rudeness on the site. Yep, I have even resorted to it, when goaded. And probably will again. I guess one of my biggest complaints right now is that all the posts about *HUGS* and being "fluffy"... I have been here over a year and for the better part of that time I have been *HUGGGGING* people on here, and yes, I am full of fluff.. but that is ME. I am that way in real life and one just has to meet me to know it. I have been off of USM for a bit and maybe will be off for a bit more because I dont like the awkwardness surrounding the "judgmental" police about the way we are. We are all unique in our own way and no one, and I sincerely mean NO ONE, not even me has the right to judge how anyone else is and even worse insinuate they are phonies and liars because the like to spread LOVE. The bitterness, innuendos and fighting has gotten out of hand, and I just got tired of it. I have told people in the past that if they didnt like the way USM was, then they could click out of it, so that is what I have done. I sincerely LOVE USM, and you and Ginger and a few of the Admins already KNOW how I feel about you guys, and how I feel about this site. But it has gotten to the point that everyone is treading on "egg shells" for fear of being the NEXT "Subject" of the gossip. Your vision of USM and what it can and WILL become is the best on the internet.. bar none, and I applaud your efforts. G and G, I love you guys, and I just want harmony, and if necessary, just plain tolerance of the diversity we do have here on USM. From the bottom of my very "fluffy" heart, I love you all... Complaints Ummm OK where to begin :(...Bobby planted tomatoes when we got the heat wave a few weeks ago and the temps have been dropping to 34 degrees at night and now my Beautifull quilt is covering the silly tomato plants :(:(:(...Complaints OK there are aphids on our Spinach and Seven dosen't seem to be helping at all and I LOVE spinach salad :(:(...Complaints,I have four Baby Kittnes from a stray I took in so she wouldn't give birth outdoors in the cold :( Hey anybody wanna Kitten ??? *)...OMG,you mean complaints about USM????????? I have something to say here too Radman..Since this is the place to do it I will...I have found myself pulling away from certain Admins because I have been told I "suck up" to Admins to get what I want..that favoritism is getting out of hand..etc...I have tried not letting it get to me, but hey I am human and because of that it DOES get to me..I cannot be FRIENDS with people I truly love because I am accused of sucking up to get what I want :(:(:( THAT breaks my heart..Like Gail I am a huggy person and I like showing affection..but that has come into question..we have tried to lighten the mood..with NO success..Everything some of us say and do has come into question..There is always an ulterior motive. When one of us finally takes the bait we are trashed and called a fake, fraud, liar..etc...You just can't win for losing..I will NOT walk away from USM though..This is MY home just as much as anyone elses and I LOVE it here...I refuse to let them drive me out...Those are my complaints Radman..I know everyone is pretty much light hearted about this post, but I felt the need to say this...xoxo  |

My only complaint is that the USM I first came to is gone. I love it here, honest, and ihave met so many wonderful people here- but the majik i found here is fading. No longer can I pop in a chat and see all my friends, as well as new faces- instead i see bickering and the chat screen cleared. No longer to posts captivate me, instead "What is your favorite movie" and etc plague my screen. The old members I care about so dearly, they are leaving and no longer can I see their wonderful posts and comments. Pointless posts fill up with replies so quickly, while poems and stories and 'unsolved mysteries' are left with sometimes none. And so, my complaint is not about USM, its not about you and Ginger (I love you two so much) and it's not about all the users of this site: it's about inevitable change and the faact that some people like this change, but I don't. I guess it's a personal problem, in a way. *shrug* I'll try my best to fix what I can.  |

More objectivity and less censorship. I have seen so many posts shut down that have less to do with breaking the rules and much more to do with personal vendettas against the poster by the admin who deletes it. It's so frustrating to come here and see that practically every post I reply to (even the non-controversial ones) has been deleted for any slight infraction. Waaaaayyyyyyy too many cooks in the kitchen is to blame, I think. However, I've stuck it out for over two years now, even though that's partly because you said you would hunt me down if I ever left...LOL! But I wouldn't stay here if I wasn't enjoying myself. I think we little people need to touch base with you like this every once in awhile in an open forum and voice our concerns...to YOU...without fear of deletion. I don't have a complaint about usm, I have a complaint about how SOME (not all) usmers deliberately set out to destroy other usmers and make their lives miserable. I also have a complaint about posters who don't even try to spell things correctly or even re-read their posts to make sure that it doesn't need updated. It buggs me to see entire posts in all caps. I don't like the posts that have obvious double meanings posted for the purpose of antagonizing other usmers under the "Sheild" of you took it the wrong way. I don't like the way rumors spread like wildfire and people don't even think to ask the person "in question" whether or not it's true, they just spread it along with a little more added for affect and continue on thier merry little way like they aren't hurting anyone. I think that is basically it, if I think of more I'll let you know. However, all in all USM is a wonderful place to be and I don't know where I would be if I didn't have the friends and family that I have made here. Sometimes, even they, get on my nerves but that is life and doesn't mean I love them anyless. OH, I just remembered something else that buggs me. The people who are incapable of actually loving another person who sit in judgement and criticize the ones that do. They don't understand how others can love people and show their emotions to others they don't know based upon a little thing called faith and the hope that they can make a friend out of the deal. Ok, I really think that is all now. :P You asked me!  |

My goal is to give you something out of the ordinary for your notes. As in any institution, it's not USM I have issues with but from time to time the people. Both in the Admin role and the day to day users, but as a realist I know that is only to be expected. I do think the groundwork here tends to run too much toward the fluffy and huggy, when sometimes a smack upside the head would be more appropriate. But hey thats me, I'm an edgy type, an alpha male- an anti poster- a clown hater. Anyone I may disappoint simply has their expectations for me set too high. I think it's funny that MANY (not all) of the people who would USUALLY be complaining about SOMETHING have not shown up on this post yet? That's my complaint. All of those who are given the chance to say something can't do it in fear that their brown noses will be wiped clean. Don't mean to stir up anything, but has anyone else seen this? My complaint is pretty much this: yes I know everyone is human and that everyone makes mistakes. Even me!! OMG! But, sometimes I do think we have too many chiefs and not enough indians (for lack of a better analogy, I do apologize for that one....but cooks in the kitchen was already taken). Oooo! I have one! Managers in the McDonalds! Okay, that one then. And it is inevitable that someone from that many people are going to get authority-happy...for the sheer reason that not everyone's perfect. Radman and Ginger I do appreciate the work and time and money that you have put into making this site what it is, my only observation (because its not a complaint/because I don't let it affect me)is that the quality of admins/chatwins is not what it once was. It seems that some of the newer people are using their new found power to enhance their time here and not to monitor. I miss the days of Snow White, DWW, Keepsake, Phaedrus, "Hairy Aerie" and many more. They were a very mature group of individuals who always put USM first and didn't just delete because of personality conflicts.  |

My problem also lies in the admins using their abilities to seal friendship (or for whatever reason they are doing it) by either choosing sides or relaying private information to others. Admins are given a job and with that job comes the responsiblity to be impartial. And I know, I know, admins are human too, but when you have a job, you have to put aside your 'humaness' if thats what the job calls for. It just seems that there is an awful lot of behind the scenes information being passed out to those that don't need the info for any other reason than to hurt someone.  |

I love this place..it has changed my life in many ways...I have met wonderful people, and found a forum to share my creativity. It galls me that people would complain about a place like this to the EXTENT that they do...hey...this is not your cable company..hey, you can complain about that you PAY for it....This is NOT your ISP..you CAN complain about that because you PAY for it...This is a free forum for expression and interaction. Of course there are going to be problems..when people interact there always are, but Jeeze..who says we can disagree with decorum and taste! With respect...instead of being mean! It is like some people are "creating" characters here...this is NOT the WWF! I DO agree that there should be some "group training" for the volunteer Admin on this site...so they are all singing out of the same hymn book...I think lots of them interperet their powers and the rules differently that you and Ginger would like...this is what creates most of the friction on this site between people, I believe...at least the friction that YOU, as big red, can do something about. Even disregarding that...this site is wonderful..I just wish that MORE people would have learned the most important lesson there is to learn in life, because I think alot of them here still haven't quite gotten it yet...that you NEVER take ANYONE or ANYTHING for granted....(ie: this site, just as a rough example....)  |

Okay I am coming back here to get myself into trouble again. It seems that we have a huge double standard as if that is a surprise to me. Much like Dizzy said it is okay for some to post comments and posts provided that they say one thing but mean another and all their friends are clued in on what the post is really about. But when someone just stands up and says it in plain English and doesn't hide behind the inuendos the post is deleted. It would also seem to me that there is 100% without a doubt a LOT of favoritism that has been going on and even the stupidest of people can see that much. If you can step onto a post and tear someone to shreds and then be given admin or admin like priveledges or keep them, then serious mistakes have been made in the choices for those positions. I can name about a dozen or so people that can really lay on a bashing that would be more suited for the position if that is what it takes in order to gain such a position. I also think that if it is shown that Admins are favoring other members then they should be eliminated from having the power to have a say so on a user's account. I may not spend a lot of time in chat but I am not completely oblivious to the fact that there are PLENTY of people that get away with one thing and another that gets thrown off the site for the day for doing the same. I also feel that if people are going to get into a an all out brawl over something regardless of the topic or reason that they all need to suffer the same consequences if any are to be given, even when it includes part of the admin staff. No one puts a gun to anyone's head to come in a reply, we are all in control of our own emotions and feelings. Regardless of hurt feelings or surrounding circumstances everyone involved should go and not just the one that has past history for controversy. That is the way it works in real life. Interesting enough I had a similiar situation at home last night. On their way to bed Justin hauled off and slapped Azairyia. She retaliated by throwing a toy at his head which resulting in a small but deep gash that required one staple at the emergency room. Now seeing that Justin took the shot to the head and had to go to the er and have a staple put it in with no novicaine or anything some would think that it would seem fit that I only punish his sister for what happened because she threw the toy at him. NOPE sorry it didn't happen that way. In the game of life if you aren't taught that there are consequences for every action that you make, you walk around and think that you can do as you please and no one will say anything to you and you won't end up in trouble. Justin received the same punishment as his sister did and it was made clear to both of them, YOU should not be putting your hands on your sister....AND YOU should not have thrown a at toy at him. If there is a problem you need to come and get Mommy or Daddy and not take matters into your own hands. Sounds like a simple solution right? Except when you have mother's and father's that will do nothing about a situation because they favor one child over another then your problem goes back to square one again doesn't it? |

I really do love the site Radman :) It's awesome just the way it is except for one thing... It's that blue thing at the top of the post. The navigation bar. It reeeeally messes up my computer. The words show up all streched out and takes me absolutely forever to read a single post. I'm not sure if this is just with my computer (iMac, almost two years old) or if it's happening with anyone else too. :) I could still live if you don't change it but I'd be really thankful if you helped me figure out how to fix it. :) :D Besides that. I love this site ~hugs~ I'm allowed into the older people chat right? riiiight? lol  |

Hmm where ever shall I start... admins favoritism, the pointlessness of chatmin, admins who look the other way if someone curses in chat (I've seen so many people use the F word in there, and if I make joke about disguising words *drape and ect.. I get a message and in trouble) people in chat accusing me of being "satinic" wanting to worship bedsheets and such, And it seems that only 1 certain admin ever gets me in trouble, the maturity of chatmins (darn it is not a curse word), some people with lots of awards and some with none (not that I care about having one, but there are some people who don't get any that deserve it and some people that don't deserve the ones they have), this doesn't apply to me but I've seen a bunch of older members gang up on newer members in debates, RULE # 6 I hate it, the not being able to write post about those who were kicked off with out getting it deleted... and I have to leave this classroom now, but I will be back.  |

Maybe it would be better to put a time limit that thesze things lasted so that people need to continue their good works and not start bashing people just because they have an award and someone else doesn't  |

Well Radman, I am glad that you posted this and asked this important question, to begin with. I really LOVE this site and I really do ENJOY coming here to post stories and to read and reply to some of them. But, since you post this, and you are asking for our TRUE feelings, I have to speak up and say the truth! Even though this is a nice place to be, and I have met a lot of wonderful people, I agree with DIZZY ME and ALI, as well as others. I won't say a lie, just the truth. And I won't pretend to be happy if I am not happy with so many things that I have seen here, especially with Admins. I think there are a lot of Admins in this site who are taking advantage of their power to delete stories, some of them according to their own conveniences. They abuse of their "power". I have seen how many Admins here have "favorites" and are not fair with other USMers. I personally have had many posts deleted because, supposedly, doesn't fit the rules of this site, when it is not true. Like for example, that my post don't have 2 paragraphs, and so. Also I like to say that this site, clearly states in red font that there should not be: "VULGARITIES, NAME CALLINGS, INSULTS, AND COMMENTS UNRELATED TO STORIES." It also says: "NO RACIST REMARKS". Well, it has come to my attention that some USMers here speak vulgarities, or disguises them with initials (like BS for B*** S***, etc.); others insult each other, and others, have done RACIST REMARKS toward other countries, like for example, I have seen some people here talking bad about my country, which is Puerto Rico, when they don't even know how it is like here. They just think they are experts, saying that Puerto Ricans are not worth a cent, that we are a third world country, that the US doesn't need Puerto Rico to join them because we are petty, etc. This is so untrue because we are a commonwealth, a territory of the US and we are not a third world country. We are not petty, or whatever. And even if these comments are under the debate category here, does that give the right to other ignorant people to INSULT and MAKE RACIST REMARKS about Puerto Ricans, or other nationalities. I have felt INSULTED by those comments. Then, why those comments are not deleted. Is that because Puerto Ricans don't have feelings? Well, we do! Would you like another country, let's say, Japan, to call the US petty, third world country, not worthy, etc.? I don't think so. And these kind of things aren't deleted by Admins. while some other posts are getting deleted for nothing, for example, for not having 2 paragraphs or so. I think some Admins. (not all) play favorites, and I have had bitter experiences with Admins that have been rude to me, when I never been rude to them to begin with. So, I agree with DIZZY ME, that before you get the power to someone to be an Admin. make sure that you look into the behavior of some of these people. And I also agree with DIZZY ME when she says that she doesn't have to kiss butt to Admins here to get away with anything. Admins should be OBJECTIVE. But of course, that's not all the Admins. I have met Admins here that are sweet and are very responsible and fair in what they do. It has been just a couple of Admins here that are rude and are not fair. I love this place and don't take me for an ingrate, I am just being honest and answering your question since you asked. I hope all suggestions here make this place a better place. For the millionth time...LOL...another person saying they love this site...that would be me...LOL. I don't have any complaints. Only suggestions. These are things that I've noticed but that I could live with either way. I can't stand reading a Serious Advice post and then not having authorization to respond to it. There's no name or user number so I can't just respond to the author. Quick solution for that...I don't read them anymore. I'd like to help and a lot of the time I probably could, but I guess I'm not allowed. Another thing is a courtesy message when you have a reply that gets deleted. I made a reply two days ago that totally agreed with the author, contained no vulgarities or obscenities, did not attack anyone or even hint at it, and had a positive message. It was deleted. I figured the author did it so I sent him a message and he has no clue what happened to it. I understand and accept that admins have the power to delete at their discretion, but at least a little note with a simple, concise reason for deletion would be much appreciated. I've only had one other reply deleted and the admin that did it sent me a message. It was a nice message and I hold no grudge or anything. Sorta/kinda a "now you know" type thing. I see the point some are making about preferential treatment by admins towards other USMers over others. What can I say? I have to live with it I suppose. Like I said, I don't have complaints...just suggestions. Wait, ONE complaint...oops, false alarm...LOL. Take care and you must get a lot of satisfaction over such a wonderful creation...Gallytuck.  |

Ive seen some who have no respect for the admins. they are told to stop, and they just keep it up because they think they have been here long enough to get away with it. then when you try to talk to the admins about it they say well theyre having problems right now or they have had a rough life.I can appreciaste that, but i come here to relax and unwind from work and life in general, and i get tired of two or three people trying to run the entire chat room just because they have more time under their belt.thats just my o |
