i will tell you now that boys are the hardest to potty train... they dont care if they mess themselves, infact i think they enjoy it! my suggestion for you is to get a step stool, so he can stand and pee like a big boy.. make a game of it... put a fruitloop in the toilet and tell him to see if he can sink it by peeing on it! i know that sounds crazy, but kids like that! now about going #2... that is the hard part. all i know about training to go #2 is they have to do it when they are ready! |

Send him to kindergarten, as soon as he sees the other boys using the potty he will suddenly feel VERY babyish and join them, it worked with my son when all else had failed, he was dry day and night within a week! |

hee hee FB that is true. I heard that some places paint flies in the urinals, because men will aim for it and not get as much else where. That is a good potty training idea. I'll have to remember it if I ever have kids. |

You abosolutely cannot force them to potty train. The more you push the harder they will resist. Let him potty train on his own. If you scare them and make them think going potty is a bad thing, they won't do it. Have patience. If he isn't in daycare, let him run around naked for about two weeks (except nap time). He will get used to it. You may have messes to clean up but he will start using the potty. I really can't stress enough that you shouldn't force him. |

Well, each child is different, my first trained quickly. I eased him into it with cute little potty training books and put cheerios in the bottom of the bowl and challenged him to hit them. My second child went when he wanted him to. Finally, he learned by his brother and his cousin's albiet messy examples. I think it's great that you are motivated and want to step in and help your brother. You are right, if he is older than 3, then it's high time he goes potty where other humans go You can also let him flush toilet paper and let him watch it go bye bye...but be sure to tell him that if he falls in, he's too big to go bye bye. Make him wipe his own hiney when he messes a diaper, he's three and old enough to help clean his mess if he's going to refuse the potty! GOOD LUCK!~SpaceCase |

All kids will potty train when they are ready. You can't make them. Little boys take longer to train and usually don't train until the age of 3 to 4. When he is ready, try standing him up on a step stool to use the big potty. Then toss a couple cheerios in the toliet and have him "shot" at them. It works and he'll have fun tring..LOL |

I watch him while my mom is at work and on the weekends. My mom watches him too but keeps him in diapers. When I watch him I try to have him use the potty chair which he refuses. |
