They sing their songs Of another language. Calling his name All the way from Heaven, For another soldier Has passed. He wore dark colors With mud on his face. Today He did not want to fight. Today He knew something wrong was going to happen. Today He died a young man. Today He held his head up high Proud to be an American. Having fear Of doing whats right, And honorable. A man cries Without anyone by his side. After today, Another day will come; A new chance For life to be lost on the battlefield.
