A Simple Quote....Another short poem by CreepyT

Walking and wondering why I should stay,
I came upon a stone marking a grave.
I began to read and see what it said,
A faded name, a faded date, a faded quote,
Was most of what one could see?
Worn by weather and covered with moss,
I read a quote that saved my soul from being lost.
I read it aloud and began to say,
"If ever I see the light of tomorrow,
It will be because I lived a day."
