I really don't know why it does.. I guess all that wealth goes to their heads... LOL!.. ![]() |
| Date: 7/18/2000 7:33:00 PM From Authorid: 9253 that is very true, but in reality dear money tends to mske people happy and sord of gets them off track....in this situtation i wouldn't even trip hard cause if your friend steps into a whole and you are there for them then they will realize how stupid they were to act so cruel to you... believe it works... silverdevilchic |

I have met people with money, and I think sometimes that they feel like their material possessions come first. I am sorry your friend turned out like that. Greed is a terrible thing. @}---Shocandle ![]() |
| Date: 7/18/2000 7:58:00 PM Money really doesn't make people happy. The more material wealth they have the more they want...a nicer car, a bigger house..you get the picture. They're never satisfied. I know a young guy who became wealthy in a short period of time. This was due to a medical condition he had when he was a teenager. The doctor misdiagnosed his case and did unnecessary surgery. His parents sued the doctors and he got a settlement for 6 million. Now the guy doesn't have to work, can travel anywhere he wants, and lives in this huge house and wants for nothing. Unfortunately he's not in good health due to his illness and doesn't look happy, and I heard that he may not live past 40. I would rather have my good health and be struggling than to be him. |

I wish I knew why it changed ppl. But I don't and probably never will. It's a true shame.... A person close to me (a family member) married into money, and she changed big time, I wish I could have the old her back as well. ![]() |

It seems that for some it really is all about the Benjamins. I think people need to assess what is more valuable to them... as it turns out the most important things can't be bought with a fist full of green dead presidents. -Nova128 |

everything in life needs balance, nature is all balanced when you recieve you need to give, thats the same when someone becomes wealthy. people are starving in the world, in our own streets... if we come across some money try to remember the children who need food & clothes, I'm sure if we does this the wealth will become a blessing not a curse. money does change a lot of ppl, it's a shame too. if i had money, i don't think i'd be affected, i am the kind of person that if i had money, i'd share it w/family and friends. i have known ppl to get like that, they have money and think they are better than u and i. that's wrong, and they will eventually regret it. money don't last forever, and if u choose your money over your friends and family, when they are gone one day, and u have no money, you will be ultimately alone. nobody to blame but yourself. i don't think famous ppl are happy either, they have too much money to know what to do with. money can't buy u love, it's the money of satan. it's good to have to survive but to throw away your family and friends for it is wrong and it all eventually comes to ya. good story. personally, if your friend chose their money over u then they were'nt your friend to begin with. be careful, choose your friends wisely. wealth is good but it don't buy you the keys to the kingdom. ![]() |

What makes it all so sad is that it's the only way some people feel that can validate their lives as being "highly worthwhile" but while doing so, they lose themselves in the process and everything else that is "precious" in life. The majority of them are self-centered, boring, rather bland in conversation and limited in appreciating the "simple" things of life - such as good friends, a good conversation over a cup of hot chocolate, a phone call from a childhood friend one hasn't talk to in years, the laughter of a child chasing a butterfly, the smell of a forrest after a rain, etc. I may not be rich, but I wouldn't trade the life I have now for a million dollars - it comes with a resounding peace on a daily basis and in my book, one can't get any richer then that. ![]() |

I suppose it is just a fact of life. They might feel like they are better than others because of their wealth and it can make them come off as a snob. Love, ![]() |
