Since we were in the 7th grade, me and a few of my close friends had always had this joke with ESP. We were always tryin to send telepathic messages to each other, and when we did, we would always scream "ESP!!!!" As we got older, we still kept the inside joke and would yell ESP! down the hallways of our schools. After a while, things got weird. We would pick up the phone and just say "Hi Lauren" or "Hi Christy." We always knew who was at the other end. None of us were very secretive with this because it wasn't a big deal to us. If the phone would ring, we would just tell our parents "Oh, its Katie, give me the phone." And after a while, our parents even got use to it. But then it went beyond phone calls. Once my good friend Christine and I were at the mall. I thought I heard her say my brother was cute. "Oh shut up. He's my brother for goodness sake." Christy just looked at me and said, "How'd you know I was thinking that!?" Then we looked into each others eyes and said the classic "ESP!" But it started to happen more and more often. It was no longer just a joke. It was a bond. A bond that has kept us together throughout many years. How it changed my life:I don't feel much better, just closer to a few of my friends
