might bring that up to the teacher that the song is a "religous" song praising god and the lord and you don't feel it's right to be singing that song in a school when some people may not belive in god and the lord.... i know it's takes alotta guts to bring it up. I remeber in school the jewish girl was able to go to the library when we did anything about christmas or easter (even i grade 7)  |

I probably would have said something....I wouldn't really be bothered by it, I guess..I don't know but what about the people of other religions? They're be praising a God that they don't believe in, or whatever...I dunno though..  |

Our teacher did the same thing. we sang songs like "Lord, listen to your children praying." and a few other ones... "Shut de do" but we sang cool songs like "Loch Lomond" and a few others. I already heard not to mention the whole "church and state" to him or else he would get into this Major Hissy fit and the whole class would have to hear him scream on how stupid it is to seperate church and state.. and yada yada. well, I didn't mind singing them until we sang them every day and we always had to go back cuz my chorous group sucked at singing. so eventually a friend and i started to make the songs into prodigies. We never messed with Loch Lomond, but we changed Shut de do into Shut your mouth, and you couldnt change Lord listen to your children.. there was no way. It is seperation, but just let the teach do his/her thing.... if it doesn't offend you, just kinda go with the flow... Love ya tonz.  |
