I think something like that is called tact. You don't want to tell your best friend she looks fat (even if she does). Maybe you could say instead the color is wrong for her or something.  |

I think you should tell her the truth if she asks your opinion, but remember to be very diplomatic about it, you wouldnt want to hurt her feelings hun and if she is a good friend she probably would accept what you do say gracefully, and no I wouldnt lie to her...cheers Zema  |

When people ask your opinion they usually want the truth. Sometimes they automatically expect you to say nothing but good things, but when they ask your opinion just say you want the honest truth. I think telling the truth is the best cause if your friend doesnt really look good im sure theyd want to know so they wont fell stupid. Yes telling them you look good when they dont is a lie. If they get upset, hey dont ask your opinion then.  |

It really depends on my friend. If I know they can handle honest critism, I tell the truth. If I know they will be hurt, I'll tell them a white lie.  |
