Uggggggh...not MORE on this. It's getting annoying. I'm sorry, but these posts are really bugging me. I like the pledge the way it is with UNDER GOD included because that's how I was taught it and that's how I've sadi it since pre school. - Luv Bug |

i dont think they shoud change the pledge.i like it the way it is. its optional, pepl dont have to say it. and if the "under God"part bothers them that much then they dont have to say that part at all. |

i think it is good they took it out of schools. Kids get into to many fights over stupid religion. I have before and it is so stupid. It was because I didn't want to say the pledge because i don't believe in godso I was made fun of and called into the office because the kids sai that me and my friend were going to kill everyone at school. I think it will help cut down on kids fighting or getting made fun of because of their beliefs. |

should be the way it WAS ... the reasoning for putting 'under god' in it reeks of religious figures (the knights of columbus were a major factor in getting it pushed through *http://www.kofc.org/index_eng.cfm*)forcing religion further and further down our throats ..... i can respect that you are religious, why in the world won't anyone respect those that are not religious? i mean, really what does god have to do with your allegiance to your country? leave god out of it .... that's why this country is wonderful, we have freedom, and the freedom of religion means not only freedom of choosing a religion, but the freedom of NOT BELIEVING in a religion, either ... NO ONE has a problem with it (well, to a degree it could be considered facist, but THAT'S A WHOLE OTHER debate) if you just take GOD out of it . . . and why not? No one has answered to me why its so important to leave god in it ... we are in a country that is dictated by law that the men create, not the laws that god created ... you have your morals, i have mine, there is no reason we should even be discussing those morals when we are discussing the country and the laws of the land ..... besides its all just more and more to show off our society and morals about the (gasp) commies ... (thus the phrase being added in '54 ... mccarthyism), eh, i think i have said my peace ... thanks for listening ... :) |

Why were there no problems with the pledge before? If someone doesn't wanna say "under God".. FINE. DON'T SAY IT! That doesn't mean the majority of people who DO wanna say "under God" have to suffer. You're right, Author. People will find ANYTHING to complain about! |

i will always refuse to say the pledge because i dont need to say mindless words to a piece of fabric to be patriotic thats another way for the government to go "oh looky i got one extra kid to push around" |

If you leave it Like it has been since 1954, UNDER GOD, you have more People BOWING to the Government of this World, Through Deception! This is the only Reason Under God, was added! It gives people a sence of peace, that they are serving God, while in all "REALITY" they are Worshiping a mans Government of THIS WORLD! Remember..., Have No other Gods before Me! The Words, "Under God" was only Placed in the Pledge, to PACIFY, the Baby Christian, giving them somthing to suck on to satisfy their pallet, until the Government can Starve them to death, in more ways than one! I got news for all you wishy washy Christians. "ALL NATIONS" are Under God, Whether they Know it or not! God who has power to GIVE or Hold Back blessings on any nation, can and does so, when he see's fit to do so. Why?? Because he is THE SUPREME POWER, that Protects and delivers us, The people of the WORLD! So just keep on taking your Oaths, Saying your Pledges, trusting in a Government of THis World, that is run by "MANKIND", and you Gonna see now Mighty fast, that you have been Trusting in the Wrong Source, for way to long! America is gonna fall, because His Holy Word has said it will. |

Once that statement is removed, you are pledging allegiance to the "STATE," a godless entity, but since I don't make pledges, promises or oaths, except to the GOD ALMIGHTY, due to my understanding of BIBLICAL SCRIPTURE, it's kind of a no brainer, to me. While I don't make the pledge, I do adhere to the believe that we are a nation established on the Biblical principles of TRUTH, JUSTICE and LOVE! |

And since the Knights of Columbus, who according to Paul Blanchard's books, of the 70's, are the group most RESPONSIBLE for instilling CATHOLICSM in AMERICA, are the ones behind the "under God," phrase, doesn't it stand to reason that this may be a way to gain "spiritual support," for this present CRUSADE, or does anyone else understand that point? |

I pledge my alleigance to my creator only, not to a government, a country, not to the state. I will stand respectfully so if the pledge is done where I am present but I will not pledge alliegance to it. There is a difference between the two, God and state they are not one in the same. |

I have one question! If saying Under God bothers people so much, and the people sayin 'it should be restored to the old', then why not say the old instead of what it is now?? if they do change it to the old, there will still be numerous people saying Under God, change it yourself! |

I guess that guy doesn't pay the bills at his house or accepts money. If he does he is accepting that their is a God... on american money it all says "In God We Trust". So if uses money to pay the bills with those words on it, why can't he allow his daughter to say em? |
