Actually, yes, we DO get it for the articles. The pictures are nice, but the articles are GREAT!!! I have a subscription to both Maxim and Stuff, as well as occasionally buying the UK edition of Maxim, when I can find it. I read the whole thing, cover to cover. The pictures are actually too few to get excited over but add a nice esthetic touch. Don't feel insecure, he's with YOU not those girls in Maxim. Just think of it this way, he's attracted to those models in the magazine, and he's with YOU. So the models are his type, and so are you. Are you gettin' my connection? Good. LOL. Take care...Gallytuck. |

Personally I don't see anything wrong with it. But that's just me. I admit I am VERY open minded about "men's needs." Well all except for cheating or bringing, ahem, other people into the relationship. I wouldn't doubt if he does read the articles but I do doubt that's the ONLY reason he bought it. LOL I can understand how it may make you feel though Hon. Maybe he should just try not to look at that stuff while you're around. I admit that I LIKE reading men's magazines. YES for the articles, LOL. The topics are usually very interesting to me & I like to know what guys think about things. Sweetie, I'm so sorry you feel less attractive due to your pregnancy but it won't be long before you lose a big chunk (if not all) of that weight. Take good care of yourself & Bless you! In my opinion women only drive their men away by telling (or showing) them they are not allowed to do this or that. Men DO NOT LIKE nagging... LOL I know cuz I have done it before. Many times. LOL Luckily I hardly ever do that anymore. Makes for a happier B/F AND Me & a better relationship too. Anyway, just thought I'd share that. Take good care everyone & Bless you all! Love & hugs, |

I'm a chick and amen to what Gallytuck says... My husband and I both read the articles in Playboy and Stuff... I look at the pics and think geez I wish I still looked like that but I'm exercising again so we'll see... But women are extra emotional during pregnancy and it was rather insensitive of him to bring it home while you were feeling this way - especially as far along as you are... Will he listen if you tell him how it makes you feel? Good luck. cheers, |

Then again if a girl is with a guy who openly ogles other women or makes sexual comments or anything like that right in front of her, then, in my opinion, he isn't right for her. I may sound contradictory but it's hard to explain. To me there's a fine line at what's acceptable & what's not & I am having a hard time expressing it. But I can say that if a man is truly into a girl then I don't think he'd be doing all of these things in front of her. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems that way to me. I'm sorry if none of this made sense. LOL I know what I mean but I am having a heck of a time typing it out here & don't think I succeeded. Oh well. LOL Guess that's my cue to go to bed. I know it's hard to stay calm when your upset but maybe if you tell him that you FEEL like he is being insensitive since those women make you feel like a beached whale and you sense that he prefers to spend his time looking at them rather than making you feel better about yourself (which you need right now)... try the gentle "I'm disapponted" approach. It works better with my husband than the angry - bite his head off - one... cheers, |

Actually I read Maxim, the articles are pretty cool, they have a lot of science/tech articles that are both informative and funny, so I wouldn't worry about it, the half-naked ladies are just a ploy to increase male literacy! |

Maxim is a good magazine with interesting articles. And yes there are women in it and yes we look at them, and yes we ALL fantasize. And then we see what we have-wife, kids, home etc. And we're content. You want aguy who reads Maxim and comes home to you. Or a guy doesn't and is shacked up with a girlfriend somewhere. At least he feels secure enough in the relationship not to freak out or try to hide it. That shows he has faith in you. |

Shai...I understand why you are upset but just ignore him. Men live for visual stimulation. They are not as evolved mentally to be able to filter out hot chicks. Most of the time it is harmless. Better that he read a magazine then to be doing something else. I actually sit and read those mags with my man sometimes...gives me an idea of what type of girl he likes and that mag does have cool articles!!! BTW...did you know that men are usually highly attracted to a woman that is pregnant with their child? Some type of chemical reaction, I suppose! Cheer up!!!! |

They have gadget reviews, clothing and style sections, how to be a better lover articles...how can you argue with that? LOL. It'll teach your man how to dress better(and maybe even encourage him to go shopping with you...hey...hey) and to be better at...well...ya know. So there ya have it. Maxim is good for women too!
