Oh wow, what a great post. I too admit, I dont submit many paranormal things, but only because nothing paranormal ever happens to me. Yes, most of my posts are either general advice (I am so cluless, I need advice all the time, lol) or poetry. I dont think the poetry is what you are talking about here. Even thought I have only been here a bit over a year, I remember when i first joined, how many paranormal posts were here, and thats what interests me, the whole reason I came here in the first place cause I saw it had something about dreams. I hope to see more paranormal postings soon :) good post :)  |

I agree with Forgoten Colorz. I rarely ever find a post worth reading. None of them are about ghosts, hauntings, or ouija boards. I think they should have a "USM Oldies" section, where only older members who appreciate this site more could access... lol. *shrugs* I dunno... I mean, everyone here appreciates the site, but obviously not as much as the older members becuase they haven't been here as long. :) |

I agree with ya, I would like to see more posts with more quality yet there are posts with lil quality that are a lot of fun. So in some ways those posts are what you make of them and in some ways those posts are obviously posted just to be posting things. I find myself lurking through the spiritual and religious sections more often now because there seems to be a lot more effort put into those kinds of posts. The only thing I could say is just encourage those whose posts you like to write more often and in the same way make posts more often that you would like to see maybe coming from other people. It does seem like a lot of people dont care about quality posts because often those are the ones with less replies or less times that it has been viewd.  |

Yo dawg...Quality old member here. The difference, though, is that when I know I have NOTHING to say, I don't make a post. I don't have anything to write about that is interesting...so you know what...I DON'T MAKE A POST!!! That in itself will prevent all the other posts (which I have been told "If I don't like them Don't read them.") It is quite difficult to not notice and be annoyed by page after page of "Is he gonna ask me out" or "Will he call me?" Yes...we are a rare group...lol. Oh well, I do quality commenting and help keep the intelligence quota of the site up...with Dizzy Me, Thunderhead, Sixgun, Gallytuck, and Firstborn's help, of course...and yours Ali :-P  |

I agree. I'm still relatively new, but even when I first joined things were better. The posts that irk me the most are those that could be a good read if the author would take the time and effort to spruce them up and to punctuate them properly. And posts in all caps, but those are just annoying.  |

i don't know, i kind of feel like i DO have the right to judge other people's posts. anytime you post something, you're putting it out there for other people's scrutiny. not necessarily the content, mostly just the quality. there's no reason a "who's cooler brittany or mandy?" post can't be made into a post with real intellectual merit through the use of creativity and critical writing skills. |

Did you read my mind or did I read yours? I used to come to USM everyday and now I try to stop in once a week or so. The reason for this is I can never find anything worth reading. When I first came to USM it was great. I loved to read posts from Banner, Sur5r, Persephone and many others but now Its like a whole new place not having much to do with Unsolved Mysteries. What drew me to this site was the name, what kept me here were the posts now neither of them is having much influence on kepping me here. see ya in a week or so . ....  |

I have not been here as long as some people but I can remember why I first joined. The very first time I came to USM I read a post about angels that answered every question I ever had to ask about the subject. I loved being able to come to this site and read things from all over the world about culture and philosophy but recently those posts don't appear much.. The front page seems to be flooded with USM events and USM games and advice which is fine. People have a right to post whatever they want but I still won't read them. This is the reason I don't post much anymore because I'd feel like a hypocrite posting the same thing as that which I don't even read.. like games.. :)  |

I totally agree with you, Ali. Although I must admit that I have written a couple of insignificant posts. I remember writing those when I was completely bored because there was nothing going on here. At least there wasn't in my opinion. LOL :o) Maybe that's why the people who write them all the time do it? LOL I'm not sure but I have definitely noticed that USM has changed in a big way. And in my opinion, overall it's in a negative way. I am sure a lot of people won't like what I have said but it's how I truly feel. The reason I 1st came here is because of the paranormal & mysterious. And I guess the reason I stayed is because this is a unique site & there are a lot of wonderful people here. :o) I don't read the paranormal & mysterious topics nearly as much anymore because I feel the quality of many the posts leave a lot to be desired. I feel that the best subjects here on USM are the ones that provoke intense thought & strong emotion. Like debate. LOL For me to say that is VERY unusual... LOL..But I DO remember when I joined over a year ago, that things were alot more interesting. Like you, I spend alot of time wandering around trying to find something that catches my interest..I will be the first to admit that I cannot stand the boyfriend/girlfriend posts..Maybe its just my old age..maybe its because I find some of it sooooo trivial, I dont know. I would LOVE to see something of quality here..Have you ever noticed how when there IS a good post or even a controversial post, everyone flocks to it?? LOL  |
