I Really Miss My Dog

Our sweet Miranda showed up on our doorstep 8years ago. She was part Pitbull and part Lab. She was so sweet. She was pretty skinny and had skin problems, looked like no one was taking care of her. Last Sept. she started looking like it was hard for her to breathe. We took her to the vet and he said that she had congestive heart failure. He gave us alot of medicine to give to her.

We did this for a couple of months but in Nov. she just seemed to be getting worse. She wasn't as active as before she was just not the same. Our vet said that there wasn't any thing we could do for her. We took her to a heart specialist and they said that she had so much fluid that she was just drowning. That night was the toughest time for me. We decided to put down. Even my boyfriend who is Mr. Toughguy cried. We were so attached to her. I still think of her so often. She used to sleep with us so nightime is hard. She would go out to the mailbox with me and get so excited when we came home from work. We talk about getting another dog someday but it won't be the same. I really hope that dogs are in heaven because I plan on going there and I hope I will see her. We had her cremated and she is on our mantel. I love her so much and miss her. Snipit

Spring is coming

Date: 7/18/2002 10:32:00 PM  From Authorid: 57232    I know what you mean, I lost my best friend in October, it was so hard to have to say goodbye to my dear friend Odie! He was such a goofy dog, he was "special", but I still loved him as if he were normal. He started losing his hair at the sides, followed by hacking coughs and then he started to run away and hang out in the front yard, he finally got beat up by a dog really bad or got ran over, even the vet couldn't tell what was wrong. I used to come home and sing "Dibbie, Dibbie did you lose my number, because you're not anywhere and your not barking" (to the tune of that Phil Collins song). I sang that to him while holding his paws while they put him to sleep, he was the bestest friend I've ever had, I'll miss that dog more than he'll ever know. I'm sorry about your loss, B.Monkey13
Date: 7/18/2002 10:34:00 PM  From Authorid: 45848    Awwww..i'm sorry to hear that :( :( I've had four cats in my life and I was very attached to all of them. One of them stayed with me for many years and then just dissappeared, one of them was just a few weeks old and he died. I still do not know really to this day what caused him to pass away, but I still think about him and love him alot. The one after that ran away and I do not know what happened to him..and then finally, I have on that is still with me and i've had him since he was a really small baby! I love him and hope he stays with me for a long time. I get VERY VERY attached to animals. I don't know why..I just do. So I know that it must be very hard for and I'm sorry you have to go through this right now. I hope you feel better soon!! And remember...she will always be in your heart. :)
Date: 7/18/2002 10:35:00 PM  From Authorid: 58181    Aww, I'm so sorry :'(. My dog was killed in september, and I still get so madd. Nothin was wrong with her, someone just up and killed her. I hope my dog (montanna) is in heaven too!
Date: 7/18/2002 10:42:00 PM  From Authorid: 48128    it is said that an average person only runs into "2 good dogs" in a life time. What I am saying is you were lucky to have such a dog that you enjoyed... I have had many dogs and I have had only 3 good dogs in my life time what I mean by good dogs.. is that I could enjoy them I felt strong emotions for them soo I am very lucky person. I just thought I would let you know that.. I am sorry that you have this loss. However I guess think of the 'fun times' I also hope you see this beloved dog of yours in heaven also!

Date: 7/18/2002 10:59:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 56200    Thanks. It gets alittle easier everyday but there are those times when I remember doing things with her. I don't even have slobber marks on my car windows anymore and I wish that I did. Snipit
Date: 7/18/2002 11:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 53055    That's so sad. I know what you're feeling though. I had a dog that I was really attached to. She would come down the steps to my room, check if I was there, and if I was, she would jump on my bed with me. She was a real nice dog. She got pregnant too early, she stopped eating and one morning she was gone. I know how you feel. Don't worry, things will be all right. I hope that you feel better soon. *Hugs* -Bloodstone
