This page is all about breast reduction: http://www.yestheyrefake.net/breast_reduction.htm I'm the opposite and I think my boobs are too small, so when I turn 18 I'm getting breast augmentation. *smile* Just thought I'd share. |

I haven't had the surgery, but I do know people who have and are glad that they did it. You should make sure that you research all the pros and cons though and make sure that you understand any risks involved too. A lot of people have it done for health reasons (not only does it cause back pain but it can contribute to arthritis in the back and it also makes it more difficult to detect breast cancer). Here is a website with a lot more information about it and about what the surgery is like, if you want to check it out ... http://www.plasticsurgery.org/surgery/brstred.cfm |

BTW, Looney Girl brings up an important point for teenagers. Since you are only 14 you might want to wait a little longer because you are probably not finished developing. You wouldn't want to have the surger and then end up developing more through your teenage years and having to have the surgery again. Just a thought. |

I would speak to your doctor about it and see what he/she has to say. This girl I used to be friends with had it done and things were so much better at first. Eventually she gained weight and she looked exactly the same as she did before she had the surgury...guess that was a waste of money. But seriously I would talk to your doctor. Looneygirl is right you are still young and your body has not fully developed..thats why I say to talk to your doctor. Good luck... *AMB907* |

The longer you wait though you could get serious back problems and other problems. Like I said talk to your doc and see what they say...they know best...well most of them do..lol *AMB907* |

go to yahoo.com and look up Soleil Moon Frye's name. She is the actress who played Punky Brewster. She had a breast reduction. Maybe there would be an article around that? Good Luck. B.Monkey13 |

Um well I kinda know what you are going through but as it does not really cause me any back pain yet I do not need a breast reduction done...I can say that it probably would be a good idea to wait and make sure this is what you really want to do. |

Aaah, consider yourself blessed...some of us are too small!! *cough-me* I don't really know anything about the surgery..sorry! I do know that if you're under 18 you need a parent's consent, and also the doctor will ask you to try losing weight first if you're overweight. |
