Turn off all your lights, light a bunch of candles, and next time they come a'knocking, tell them you worship satan, and slam the door. I gaurentee they won't come around again... or they might just make you thier personal mission. LOL, seriously though, I have to agree with you on not likeing the mormon church, I have had many friends, and their parents would stop at nothing to convert me, and my family. It was horrible. I'm guessing you have already asked them to stop comeing to your door. If not, then do, just politley say "I do not appriciate you repeditly coming to my door" or Tell them they have the wrong address and send them to your worst enemy's house *shrugs* Just a suggestion. well I know how you feel and what you're saying... but I had to work with 2 mormon elders who were volunteering at the soup kitchen where i was doing community service ... he was telling me that some people still practiced bigamy and they believed in it but...they didn't beleive in doing at now in these times and days because they do follow the laws of the land. i agree that they are a little pushy, but at least they are out there trying to get sheep. though i don't agree with all of the doctrine..i really don't know how to help you. just tell them striaght up. love,  |

First of all, if these missionaries keep doing this, all you need to do is tell them that you are not interested and that you'd appreciate it if they'd leave you alone. Second of all, I am Mormon. I can understand what you mean, but I must correct a few things. (not to be rude or anything) We are not racist. We do not promote bigamy anymore. (that ended before the 1900's) We don't believe in abortion because we believe it's a form of murder. Our church isn't run by a priest, it's run by what we call a prophet and bishops. They wear suits to church. But during the week days they have other jobs because our church doesn't pay them for preaching to us. I don't mean to sound rude or anything. Please don't be offended or think I'm trying to be smart. I just think that if you decide you don't like the mormon church, you should know the truth about these things. CC a.k.a. AvalonQueen  |

Avalon Queen makes some good points. I mean it's one thing not to want to be bothered by the missionaries or whoever they are sending, but it's quite another to bash a religion with false accusations and incorrect information. You may be offended by what seems to be happening on you ... but hey, don't take it out on the people who happen to be members of this religion by spouting hateful propaganda. Just tell them you don't want to be bothered and be through with it.  |

tell them... normally when you fill out for something free they will ask if they can call you an dif they can stop by and talk to you...you DO need to tell them if they come back again you will call the police and file charges.. i normally tell them where to stick it when they call(it's like a telemarketer.. they are evil)  |

Well, I suppose they have some strange people , just as all religions do. However, my sister is married to one of their "preachers" and he has a lot to do in the church. They are good, kind people and they would never dream of trying to "convert" anyone and they certainly do not commit bigamy. The people that I know who belong to this religion all seem very nice, so maybe you just got some one who doesn't understand the word NO. I would not allow anyone to harass me like you said they do you. I would tell them once and at the second visit, they could not fail to understand that when I say no.. that is exactly what I mean!  |

MOST christians do NOT believe in abortion, to us its an act of murder, so the mormon church is not the only one that has a handle on this. 3> WHAT does it matter what kind of clothes are being worn? Clothes dont make the man/woman. 4. I'm with you, I dont believe the mormon church is the first religion that ever exsisted. 5. Look in your phone book, get the number of the mormon church, call them and tell them that thier missionarys are making pest of themselves. That YES you wanted the video but after viewing it have decided NOT to become a member and to leave you alone or YOU WILL file charges, that should do it. AND it is NOT nice to say you HATE a church because of some idiots that dont know how to leave you alone. And NO I"M NOT a mormon, I dont believe in their doctrin  |

I joined that church and found they are a church of church haters. They say bad things about other churches. Joseph Smith didn't like the other churches in hes time, so he created his own church. Another daughter born. Stay away from them and believe in your self. God use religion as a test for mankind.I'm right ...their wrong.You're right and I'm wrong. Thats the system we have in this doomed world. We had the same problem with these elders. They are trying to sell there religion and that's WRONG. You can't sell and buy religion. Telling people about the fall of a true church that was restored by an american name Joseph Smith. You can't say that if you don't follow this church, you'll go to hell. We don't open the doors to the elders because we stoped going to that church and went back to the church I grew up with. Let them be what they are! Time will tell and the TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE! UGH!!! My dad's WHOLE side of the family is Mormon, and DUH, they are just fine. I admit they are a bit pushy with their beliefs, but they are good people, and so are the other Mormons in the church. I can't truthfully say that I like the church too much, and have never liked going to it, but sometimes my dad persuades me to go. Unfortunately, he has inside info on what is going to be talked about, and he usually gets me to go on the days they speak out against Wicca and Witchcraft. I don't have a problem with people coming to my door, cuz they don't, but I don't like it when they come to my dad's house anyway.....which they do regularly. And they know perfectly well that I am Wiccan. They seem to get a kick out of asking me, "Have you prayed to Jesus yet today?" which I find quite annoying, as they know that I haven't. My suggestion is to call the church and tell them that you don't appreciate them pestering you, and that that is the LAST thing that will make you join the church. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon) and have been a member for the past 20 years. There are many members on this site. I am a Christian. I believe in Christ and I rejoice in Christ. I don't mind defending my beliefs, because it is what I am. I am not perfect, nor do I profess to be. What does upset me is when people who don't know me chose to remove the label "Christian" from me. It is mine and rightfully so. I work hard each day to live up to the standards set forth by the Savior, as to how Christians should act. As I have stated, I am not perfect, but working on perfection. I was baptized by immersion "in the Name of Jesus Christ" by one who has the authority to perform this sacred ordinance. Jesus Christ is my Elder Brother and I love Him with all my heart, soul and mind. I am so humbled when I am reminded of all that He has done for me and my heart aches when I think about His ultimate sacrifice. I look forward to the day I will be able to kneel at His feet and thank Him one on one for loving me so much that He would give of His life for me. I pray that I will have half of the patience that He exhibited when people tried to remove His Label as "The Messiah" or "The Son of God". If the missionaries are bothering you, then call the local mission office and ask that they stop coming to your home. Ignoring them is not going to make it happen. You need to tell them or the office. On the subject of bigamy, I don't even have ONE husband at this time, much less multiple ones. Members who practice poligamy are excommunicated. It is not legal and the church follows the law of the land. Abortion is murder and miscarriages are in a totally different class. I have had two miscarriages and neither was my fault or choice. It is through my testimony of the Gospel plan, that I know I will have those children with me in the eternities. Racist? I'm sorry, but when I was baptized, it was at the same time as an African American lady. My dentist is LDS and African American. I could go on and on, but I don't need to. My points are made and I stand firm on the foundation that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. A question to you, Has any other church explained to you about how you can be with your family eternally? Do you know that when a man and woman are "sealed" in the temple that the words, "until death do you part" is not used. They say, "for time and all eternity." No other church can promise you that.
