the little cripple girl......and the snake...............esp chick

this is a true story,and its really strange, there was this little cripple girl, who was my grandpa's ,sister's daughter, her name was mary,she was only 5 years old,and this happened some time in the 1940's or 1950's,, mary had polio,and was cripple, from birth,she never could walk, so she would sit outside ,by the house next too the chimley thats where she spent her day,because it was cooler there, and she would watch all of the other children playing,near by and her mother would take her, supper,out to her so ,she could stay out side, she never wanted to come in the house,until dark, well her mother would hear her talking,and thought she was talking to the other chidren,or too herself,so on this day it was sunday, she took mary's food out to her and went back in the house,and she heard mary saying, no,no ,now your food is on that side, this side of the plate is mine, her mother stepped out the door too see who mary was talking too, and didnt see no one, and walked over too mary and ask who are you talking too mary,she said my friend, and laying there was a copper head snake,eating out of her plate,her mother screamed in horror, and her father came running, and killed the snake, mary cryed and said that was my friend why did you kill him ,mary refused to eat, and grew sicker each day, and the next sunday mary died,........ this is a true story .........

it makes me wonder if mary willed her self too die,i remember my grandpa telling me this story ,over and over, i always made him tell it when my friends came over,
