Who thinks it's fake? I'm not a follower, or anything, but I know for a fact that the Bible is a legitimate historical text if nothing else. It could not be forged, because it was written by many people over a period of FIVE THOUSAND or so years. I figure some of the stuff is probably embelished, or was misunderstood by the author at that time, but it's legitimacy is beyond question.  |

because there is no proof of it anywhere else... and things don't.. what's the right word... some things in history don't corrospond to it there is no proof that anything that the bible says is true and happened actually happened....  |

This is so Puzzling to me. They've taken so much out of context when! The Bible predicts the future to a T! They have taken the Ten Commandments away from in front of our courthouse. No more pledge of legends to the flag in our schools. What next…Shoot the Christians! Church’s have been burned to the ground! When the twin towers were destroyed there was a church standing close by and buildings around it were damaged and the church stood Tall with no damage! I believe in the Bible! |

I'm sorry, but I have to contradict you on this. There is proof that certain biblical things happened. Case in point: The Flood. Nearly every culture around the world has a story of a giant flood that fits the time-frame of the bible's. Also, there is scientific proof that there was a torrential water-oriented phenomenon at said time, at least in europe. The flood did not cover the entire world, but it covered a good portion of the known-world at that time. |

Some don't believe because they either have not had a chance to examine its claims in detail. While that is regrettable it is understandable; day to day living is very time consuming, and not everyone thinks they have the time or resources at their disposal to study the Bible to prove its truthfulness. Others believe it is fake because they don't like what they find, and do not want to make the kind of changes in their lives that the true word of God asks them to make. They believe they don't have to make those changes if the Book is fake. Still others believe it is fake because of what others who profess to be believers have done to them. The reasons are as myriad as the stars. All of them are illegitimate, but some are understandable as far as how they arrived at that decision. Peace, Tom  |

I don't believe the bible is fake...I just don't believe that is it "the word of God". There ARE contradictions in it, and there ARE injustices and just plain mean-ness in it. And I don't believe that I am the one in denial here. In addition to what Tom said, I have no problem making any "changes" in my life if I found that the bible was a good source of values and morals and something worthwhile to live by...but it isn't. I don't believe it is "the word of God" because I HAVE read it...and some of it is completely hideous.  |

MY heart is just fine Rony. What about yours? If you have no problem putting your faith in the bible that is just fine. I, personally, have a problem with making a book that promotes the killing of witches, homosexuals and disobedient children; a book that allows a slave owner to beat their slave to the point of death and encourages the punishing of rape victims a guide for moral living. Sorry, buddy. If believing in that makes the heart right, then I suppose my heart will just have to be wrong. |

The Bible WAS and IS contaminated. Don't believe me? Go to Google.com, Yahoo.com , Webcrawler.com, or your favorite search engine and type in "Bible Contradictions" "Bible Atrocities" or "Bible fallacies" and when the numerous matches come up, read them. Teep has an EXCELLENT point about not trusting her life in a How-To book for religious genocide. people believe the bible is fake because of how much it contradicts itself, and because so many religious leaders in the past have added and taken out things in the bible..even if it started out as real, its been changed around so much, theres no telling if any of its real or not. its up to the individual and what they believe.  |
