Is this so wrong?

Is it wrong to want a boyfriend that has goals in mind other than where the next party is going to be at?

My daughter likes to party herself but not all the time she has better things she can be doing. I know some of the guys in our area come from not so great homes and are dysfunctional in many ways, but everyone should be able to pull themselves out of a rut and do something for themselves, right? All the guys she has met so far is all they do is party and some have jobs and some don't. I know all about hard knocks in life but that can't stop you from doing what you want. So many people make her feel guilty about how she feels. She wants a guy with a goal in life. It does not mean he cannot be fun and have a good time together. She just want something solid. I know you are also to look deep and walk in some one shoes too to see what their life and background has been like, to understand where they are coming from. But should she sacrifice her goals for someone who has none and maybe never will ?

Thanks ReginaBean

There are plenty of neat guys out there with a future in mind that includes getting an education, having a career and family. Just be patient. He will come along when you least expect it. Blaming one's status on their family status or situation is a cop out. Hey,Hey,Paula

She should never compromise nor sacrifice her goals in life, for anyone, including a man, as vice versa, a man for a woman. We all have to live and learn, just help her keep focused on her goals.....because the next party, may very well be, the celebrating of her reaching her goals in life. The most important thing in life, is not forgetting who you are, or where you came from, just remind her that other's may have a harder road to take, and hers may seem easier now, but the road that lies ahead, may get very bumpy along the way....surprisingly enough, there are worse homes than DISFUNCTIONAL ones....there are ones....that do NOT function at all!
