I think someone posted on this a while ago, but I can't remember what everyone said. umm... anyway, should religious debates be aloud in the debate section? I'm just wondering, or do they have a right to be in the debate section? Also, do you think some people ask questions just to bash another religion? I have noticed that some w/ Christianity and Witchcraft and Wicca.

Date: 8/15/2002 7:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 23610    Oh definitely we should be able to debate religion or any ideas that are important to us. Using one's mind to discuss issues can mean a way of growth, intelligence, and understanding. Something I do think we need to be careful of is to remember that we should not personalize religious debates by attacking anyone specifically but rather stick to the debate by using sound reasoning and facts rather than becoming overly emotional or defensive or attacking. Debate is good....bashing is not.

Date: 8/15/2002 8:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 34487    Yes, I think some people want to vent their angers at a particular religious or non-religious sector and they try to initiate arguments, rather then debates. Good question for the post.
Date: 8/15/2002 8:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 16671    Oh yes they need to be here. I think the religion section , especially for someone that is just visiting and wanting to learn about different religions needs to be left alone, and NO debating in them. This is the reason that the debate section was made as to SAVE the religion sections and spiritual sections from being taken away. Ladynxy, I agree with you.
Date: 8/15/2002 8:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 3125    I think we should be able to debate any subject of interest, but we should not be permitted to make "bashing" posts in the name of pretense nor as a way to start arguments..If a person wants to question anyone beliefs or present religious issues that they would like to understand, etc that would be welcome..But to make posts such as "Your God is Fake!!..Jesus is gay!! etc..These are bashing, attacking, and making acusations with no proof whatsoever. These types of posts are so very immature..Problem is, it's not the immature child making these types of posts..Most comes from "adults"!! The ones making these posts, when confronted, uses the innocent excuse of "Well I have the right to ask questions"..It is so easy to see through people who do such things..The immaturity of such people can be easily recognized..
Date: 8/15/2002 8:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 19875    I think that the Debate section is a good place for Religious debate. The thing about Religious debate though is that no one really ever wins. Ah well, thats the way the cookie bounces.
Date: 8/15/2002 8:26:00 PM  From Authorid: 53052    some people bash.. and i don't like those people for doing it... some people say one is better then the other... some people are well.. brainwashed by it all... if it is a debate then yes put it in the debate section... but i don't think anyone has a right to say one belief is better then another
Date: 8/15/2002 9:57:00 PM  From Authorid: 34476    I don't know if anyone has told you this yet (I haven't read the replies) but all religious debates are supposed to be done in the DEBATE section. Awhile back, the admins almost removed the religious section because of the heated debates which were going on within it. So... religious topics which can be debated need to be posted here, or else they will be deleted.
Date: 8/16/2002 1:05:00 AM  From Authorid: 15033    It shoudn't be a place for people to come and vent their hatred for a certain religion. It's not hard to spot those a mile away...and to tell you the truth, it's hard to debate something, in other words, prove it, when spiritual matters cannot be proven. They are of the spirit and are subject to individual interpretation.
Date: 8/16/2002 6:01:00 AM  From Authorid: 12600    I agree with Lady Nyx...
