Hey USM>.. had to say hi, cuz I cant go into a discussion without first welcoming everybody who reads my post.
My sister has had this Rottweiler *sp* for many many years, since she was a puppy. Morgan, the Rottie hasn't had the easiest life. First, she developed arthritis, then she went deaf, and now she cant see all that well. The dogs old, she cant walk well, she cant see much, and she cant hear you yell for her.
My sister Marci went on a vacation with my parents to Alaska. She flew back home last weekend, and is expected to pick up Morgan tomorrow or Sunday.
I get home from work and I go straight out to the dogs to feed and water them. The fence holding morgan in the pen is completely knocked over. I call my sister Cancace, who lives about a half hour away from here, and tell her I can't find the dog. She says to call her if I cant find her. I go to the neighbors, nobody has seen her lately, but one set of neighbors saw her early this morning.
OMG. Who knows where she could be. She's not on the Highway, she's not on our property, I can not find her. I call the Animal Control, to see if they have found her, I drive all over on the 4x4, and cant find her.. when I am about to go back home to search again, I look down the canal to find Morgan laying in the canal, not moving.....
I FLY over to her. She doesn't move until I am next to her in the cold water.
"come on Morgan, we can make it. Come on." Knowing she cant hear me, I still give words of encouragement to myself and her. I can not lift this obese dog out of this canal by myself. I have gotten her out of the water, but still in the canal. I drive back to the house where my sister is just barely pulling into the drive. I lead them over to where the dog is, and my siter jumps down, her boyfriends cousin takes her collar, and Candace lifts her from behind and we pull her out. She is so relieved. After she releives herself, we load her into my sisters car and take her home.
This was really scarey for me. My sister Marci is gone for a month, and the day before she is expected home to get her dog, I lose her! I just thank God everything went okay.
Thanx for reading.
I am still covered in water and mudd...
Love ya tonz.
