I wouldn't stop likeing a person because of their history. I mean, a person's past is just that... the past. I wouldn't stop likening of person if they had a bad rep either, unless it had to do with drugs... I wouldn't wanna get mixed up with anything like that. So I'd say a persons rep doesn't matter that much... but there are places where I'd draw the line. Erin- |

In society a reputation can be a form of stigma. It can follow you all over. For example, it can affect your ability to get a job, it can affect who your friends are and ultimately it can lead people to make an impression in their minds of who you are and treat you accordingly. If people think that you are a 'jerk' and everyone starts telling others that and they start believeing it then people might start to treat you rudely before ever even meeting you. So in instances such as that, yes I think reputation can mean something. However, I like to open the book and read it myself rather than judging it by its cover or what others have to say about it. cheers, |

if the person you liked was a known child molestor that wouldn't bother you? or a known theif would you leave your money out in the open? a persons rep says alot because many people know what this PERSON is all about. |

Well it depends..Because all that stuff might not be in the past. I wouldnt want to be with a premiscous man because of fears of STD's and him cheating on me and other things like that..I guess it would depend on what this person has done and if its history or they are still doing it.. |

Well I know for my boyfriend he knew I was the one for him because I didn't have a rep. He said he always wanted to marry a girl who was "innocent" and in this day in age where we live you don't find that. Anyways i think that it says alot about a persons morals and belief system. |

It would depend on their history now-a-days. You can't be too careful now. |

Reputation is the rummors spread about you by people who have nothing better to do then gossup. it is totaly worthliss and anyone who engages in idel speculation about a persons worth based on reputation is a fool. the only thing that matters is a persons accomplishments and there acitons, thouse make up his chactor and the only way to learn about someones chactor is to work with them and watch them BOo |

background does matter..but it also depends on the person you like..not everyone is the same..so you can not judge all poeple...until you know them..why doesnt your friend get to know her before he judges her based on what other people say?? Theres all kinds of propaganda everywhere. Also, past does matter...because what she feels about the past will always remain..what happened innthe past and what she feels about the past are two diff things. |

Who cares? Id rather get to know a person on my own, and form my own opinions on them. |
