Yeah, I think that is a good sub-category. In that department: I had a childhood buddy who was a great,great grand nephew of General George Armstrong Custer of Little Big Horn fame/notoriety. I had a friend and room mate for awhile who was a nephew of Little Richard a major 50's rock 'n' roller. I'm sorry PePe I'm not familiar with the Madsens. Madsen....hmmmmm isn't there some sports person by that name who is famous?  |

i hate to admit this, but Adolph Hitler was my grandfathers uncle. my mom is somehow or another related to Sam Bass, an infamous train robber. My dad is also related to Belle Starr, infamous horse theif and i belive bank robber. My husband is related to George Bush somehow.  |

deceased country westerner Tex Ritter and his son, actor John Ritter (from Three's COmpany)...he's my third cousin on my dad's side and his brother holds a state govt. position while another part of the Ritter family has a wealthy lumber company here in town...but I'm sure he has no clue who I am as the Cherrys and the Ritters are branched out on the big tree now...but my dad remembers Tex coming to a reunion and playing for them once when he was young...in the early 60's I presume.~SpaceCase  |

Well...I must be related to Baby Froggy...LOL, because I am also related to Belle Starr, infamous old west outlaw. I am also related to Nanye'hi The Ghi-Ga-U (Beloved Woman of the Cherokee) who was honored and granted the right to speak, vote & act in all peace a &and war councils in the Cherokee tribe....because during a battle with the Creeks....when her husband was killed....she stood her ground and continued to battle...chewing on bullets to cause a more deadly effect on the Creeks. Yep....tough women in my family. LOL.  |

The Kennedy Family and my Grandfathers family are related from back in the days when they lived in Ireland.. How exactly we are related I do not know yet as my grandfather gets very upset when we bring it up but I am still working on him for the info. We are also related to the late Burt Lancaster. His Mother and my Great-Grandmother were sisters and my great-grandmother loved the Lancaster name so much she used it as my grandfathers middle name. Burt and my grandfather grew up together. Today my grandfather is still alive but sadly Burt is not.  |

My Great-Aunt (whom I've never met, she died before I could meet her), was married to, and the assistant of the Magician Chop-Chop, a Chinese man. He appeared on the Ed Sullivan show and performed at many now famous venues. My Great-Grandfather (Great Aunt Charlene's dad-the one above), is said to have been one of Al Capone's personal chauffeurs, and that is why we have family property on Brandenburg Lake, which is off the Chain O'Lakes and is easily accessible to many of Capone's old hideouts, including the Mineola which is on the Fox River. Cool, huh?  |

Thanks for more relationships. I've remembered a couple more, although I can't recall exactly how close or distantly they are related: The 2nd wife of Lord Crouzon (sp?). He was a member of British royalty and she was some kind of cousin from my British blood-lines. The other one I remembered is a great, great, aunt who was the chief cook for the Danish royal family. |

I've got another kinda, sorta, well-know great uncle. You wouldn't have heard of him if you didn't live in North Dakota during the 1940s. His name was P.O. Sathrie, he was Supreme Court Justice of N.D. I think he may have run for governor of that state. He didn't win unfortunately. |

I get a lot of mileage out of this one... my great-grandmother was Grace Kelly... Not THE Grace Kelly, though. The only relative I can think of that might border on the famous is a cousin through marriage who plays guitar (or used to) for Gordon Lighfoot. I met him only once at a family reunion.  |
