Yes. How I loathe PE. Actually, I used to do the Daria thing on purpose, and after the volleyball passes me, I barely hold up my hand whre it went, just to torture the others. THat was about the only good memory. Besides finging it utterly useless, it can be embarrasing for others. Especially in swimming. (Not me. My poor friend Tim.) Kill that subject! |

I never liked PE due to most of the students there. Everything we did, they were so competitive about it. I remember that I was picked last once for soccor which didn't really bother me. What really hurted my feelings was when they all walked away from me as I just stood there waiting for someone to pick me. The coach looks at me and says just go to any team and so I did. As I did that, the team just glared at me and gave me that look "oh gods...why our team" I've never felt so bad in my whole life. As we played soccer, my own team mate stole the soccer ball away from me. Ugh... I so hated PE. I think that it should only be an elective... |

I wouldn't mind P.E. every once in a while but every day is just too much. They should split it with another class, like an elective on guitar or something. -- HeArTbRoKeN |

I think gym should definatly be a required thing...just for the sheer fact that we NEED the exercise...just by the numbers of people that are on this site alllll the time...we have some of the fattest children in the world...when ever a high school girl or guy has a gut hanging down...that is from no disorder...its from sheer laziness...gym helps that a little...but its not subistiute for regualr work outs

I cannot STAND PE. It annoys me SO much. I think it should be an elective, not a requirement. At my school, it is required, and I HATE it. I work out on a regular basis anyway, but if we don't want to do it, we shouldn't have to. Health class, on the other hand, I enjoy. The teacher is funny, and we get to have a good time. In PE, all the teacher do is yell at you, and punish you if you happen to be too tired to finish running the track. Sometimes we have to run three miles, and it has made me HATE running, because you get in trouble if you don't do it. I used to love running around, now I can't stand it. *Jewel Fernandez* |

I agree, I think it should be an elective. I hate gym. One of my friends is overweight, and I used to be, and it was bad always being bad in sports and it only added humiliation. I would rather thake another class. |

PE is the biggest waste of time ever conceved in the mind of man. It is an excuse to give jocks a chance to get an A...they should spend the time studying somthing that will help them get somewhere in life like Math or science or government or economics. |

No. Gym is literallly pointless. It was made policy by Kennedy (look what happened to him) to decrease the number of overweight children in the nation, but since it was made law, the number of overweight children has still been rising, more than before too. I think it should be optional, so those who like it can go ahead and take it, and those who don't, won't. Want to know why I think Gym's still in schools? I think the goverment wants to make the nation look smarter. Because say a child has a 65 in every class but gym, in which he has a 95. Then his overall average goes up. If everychild's overall average got a boast from gym, the state average would look better, and all the states combined would look a hundred times better then If gym were cut. And you know what I like to think about when I look at my report card and see A's in all but gym, which is usually a B or a B-? I here all the kids laughing and telling me I'm a dork because I've got more brains then brawns. Thats when I smile and think that I can't wait til I'm a computer genius making millions and they're flipping burgers. I agree, gym should be optional or eliminated alltogether. |

it shouldn't be required.. it's absolutely pointless. I think only the people who like to do sportive stuff and all that crap should be able to.. cause if you don't want to to it then you are just going to be all lazy and blahsome about being required to do it which only makes teachers hate you and think that you are a slacker.. so all in all. it shouldn't be required... it is quite stupid all in all. yea. thats my opinion |

Physical Education should be an elective. I've read awful stories about hazing and that occurring in locker rooms to those who are not good at sports. And there are those who just don't have the stamina and ability to participate in sports. What about the really large people? There's this 450+ pound girl in my grade and how she can stand that class is something I can not fathom. From what I remembered in 6th grade, she barely participated, but she was smaller than. And it's not fair that people who are horrible at it have to take it. I've never had good experiences in gym. I wish we had a creative writing class in our school, because I'd rather have that than gym any day. I've gained nothing from gym other than learning how to deal with competitive, judgemental, cruel jerks. And how to escape catty girls who would like nothing more than rip you to shreds. Gym class is just a device of torture to the people who are bad at it and, because I dress in miniskirts, tights, and clothes that take a long time to put on and take off, it's heck for me. Gym class stinks; it should be an elective. I'm done ranting... |

And, I forgot to add, that it's torture for the other forms of outcasts (goths, artists, et. cetera). It's only another class designed for the jocks to be in all their glory. I always get stuck with all jocks and crap. And they don't want me around them because they think I worship the devil and will put a hex on them. I can't stand jocks. I can't stand the preppie girls either, for all the ones in my school are...GRRRR! I wish I could say it, but it's a very naughty, naughty word. I did a jock/prep count this summer and seventy percent of my grade is jock/prep. And all of them thoroughly enjoy gym from what I see. I hate gym class. It's pointless. I could rant about it for hours, but I'll just be wasting time. : ) |

creepy freak i agree with you whole heartedly like in 7th and 8th grade it was fun for me because no matter what the teachers made everyone a team and made it downright fun now in highschool if your not a jock or someone else that actually gives 2 hoots about school spirit then you fail well in my school even if you try you get like a C- and the popular kids get like A's and most of the time the girls just flirt with the coach and thats how they get it its disghusting and its twice as hard for me because they have us pick teams and everytime they pick i get picked last or they dont pick me and i dont know where i go so i like end up sitting in the corner by myself watching people getting mad over a pointless game and even when i do play i never get the ball or anything like that because they think im slow and like in soccer i can out kick all of the soccer players in my school because i have alot of leg power but because im overwieght they think im slow and cant hit the ball its just very depressing |
