i think every culture should be left alone.. if you have ever watched anna and the king... they find the king of siam barbaric in his customs and his way of life but anna lives under thier culture and teaches them her culture... and he is very stuck in his way but feels he has to change to please people who call his barbaric... every country has the right in thier cultures.. and no one should feel they have to change  |

There are good things and bad things in any culture, but in the West the good things outweigh the bad. The fact that you are even able to post this story is proof of that - anywhere else, if you had questioned authority like this you would be killed. No trial. anglos seem to drag down all cultures with there "morals" its disghusting they killed off the native american cultures the hawaiian culture and many other cultures including alot of african cultures and introducing alcohol made them drag it down further and about prostitutes its legal to sell and legal to have sex but its illegal to sell sex whats wrong with making a guy thats a social outcast happy maybe it scares them i dunno but george carlin did a skit on it  |

and up until WWII the japanese were an isolated country germany filled there heads with crap of "you should own asia" and screwed it all up and tom that was there culture if it was that means no one thought anything of it including the women and the british have no room to talk with burning women I.E. the witches burned at the steak sounds kinda hypocritical |

Tom, to the British culture, yes it was wrong to burn that woman. But that woman probably knew that she was going to burned, and if she wasn't she would probaby think that she was going to be going to whatever the Hindu's believe 'Hell' is. To them it was fine, it was expected, it was their way. And being as it was their way it shouldn't have to get changed for the sake of out-siders. And if I'd been raised in a culture that'd been taken over by the Anglo's then they'd probably agree with me. And do you really know enough about all the cultures around the world to say that the Anglo way is the best? Because as far as I know, it's not. |

Yes cultures should be left alone.....Darsya I agree with you,wat seems right for a group of ppl might not seem right for others.Example some tribes in Africa are cannibals.I know it's gross and so inhuman but thats thier tradition.Also the British ways are not always right,I mean look at thier morals little ppl have any!!I had a British teacher once he told us that we are lucky why ?Because we can trust our friends,cuz in thier country no one trusts another.If u met a long life friend once he will just ignore u and thats normal.We opened our mouths when he told us this.  |
