if you start watching what you eat along with exercise, you will see results. The main thing is that you eat low-fat (30% fat from calories or less), well balanced meals. Cut down on junk food as much as you can (if you drink a lot of sodas or alcohol, that is a good place to start. Those things contain TONS of calories and it is easy to cut them out of your diet. just switch to diet sodas)Try this site: www.fitday.com. It has an online food diary. You can keep track of what you eat each day, how many calories and fat you are getting and the nutritional content of your food. The idea is to maximize the nutritional content of your meals, while minimizing the bad stuff (fat and added sugars) as much as possible-- that way you will eat less and have more energy. Also, I know that if you want to lose weight, you should be intaking about 500 calories less than you burn each day in order to lose a pound per week. And bread isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially if you are exercising each day. You need those carbs for energy. You just don't want to eat more than the recommended serving of it, and the whole-grain stuff is better for you. Hope that helps. |

oh, and for exercise, you can't target specific areas to burn fat. You can target places to build muscle, which may improve the appearance of an area, but the fat comes off wherever it wants to no matter what part of your body you are exercising (usually the last place it goes on first and the first place it goes on last. which means your problem areas are the last to go...sigh) |
