yes you can have Win 98 and Win XP on your computer, all you have to do is go out and get a program that loads when you boot up the computer, it asks you which version you want to load. However, there is a HUGE downside to that as well. Win 98 takes up almost 1G of hard drive space, while Win XP takes up over 1.5G of space. But it can be benificial to have both, what with Win XP's compatibility issues(trust me, I have XP and I don't like it.) Hope this helps. |

yes you can.. i can't remember the program.. we were doing it about 6 months back(the BF knows all about this stuff not me*LOL*) you choose which operating system when you logg in... it's like choosing which user on the computer kinda thing... it worked fine for the BF... his game would only run in 98 but he liked XP for everything else |

Yes you can have WinXp and Win98 on the same computer,You will need to install Win98 first and then install WinXp,You will need two seperate partitions to install each one on,You do not need a seperate bootloader program to load each one WinXp will install that for you,Yes it may be beneficial to have both operating systems installed as there are many programs designed for Win98 that will not run on WinXp,No it will not cause any system conflicts between the two operating systems,as they are both installed on a seperate partition, the only thing they share in common is the bootloader..Hope this helps and if you have any more questions or need help message me..... |

Also a typical Win98 install should not take anymore than 300mb I have no clue where Author 31997 came up with 1Gb for a Win98 install,But yes WinXp can take up to 1.5Gb for an install.... |

Well a couple of years ago when I had my old computer I had to re-install Windows 98, I did a clean format and install. When I did it told me how much drive space I had before and after the Win 98 install and I was losing almost 1G of HD space! Now I think that I know what I'm doing on these things, so I know that I did a clean uninstall, format and reinstall. And I don't appreciate being messaged asking if I was drinking when I put this post up. |
