The Bible is not wrong and Og is somewhat wrong. Okay, alot of wiccans/pagans say they are witches and witches were nothing but evil worshiping devil. |

Because they have been taught to believe that. Even if the Bible did say that, it wouldn't make any difference if it was "right" or "wrong", because people would still believe it anyway. |

No Lovebug, Witches DID NOT worship the devil. When Christanity was created, some people wanted the practice of the "old religions" stopped. So they spread rumors and lies about them. Also the God is sometimes refered to as the Horned God. Which, of course, probably reminded people of satan. So they assumed that Pagans worship satan, without finding out for themselves. |

Yeah Okay Kawii. Why would Chrstians spread lies if it's a sin to lie? Hmmm? Bottom line all religions have condequences that come with it and u just have to deal with it if u really care about the religion it's self. |

simple. Right before the dark ages the catholic church was pretty much a business. The more people they had comming into the church the more monney in the collection plate, also the church leaders wanted more power and controle over people, because in those times the people would follow the advice and decree of the church leaders almost as binding law. The leaders of the church wanting more money and power had no controle over the pagans and one day made a decree that they were all devil worshipers and herratics. It was also in this time that the church alterd areas of the bible better to fit what they desired. (weather of not they made alterations which would pertain to pagans being devil worshipers I do not know and make no claim there of) It was then that the message and propoganda was spread of the flying on brooms, drinking of blood, raping of children, the ruinning of crops...It was to instill fear into the public. Forcing the pagans to accept the christian god or death. That fear instilled haterd. Reminents of that fear and hatred are still with us because people bileve in it. It was so intigrated into the christian bilef. That is why I say bilefs are dangerous. |

So you think that Preists and other "Holy" men NEVER sin? I've seen MANY priests or "men of God" commit acts that would shock you. What of the Catholic priests raping little boys? Is that not a sin? Basically what RT said is true. Maybe you should hit the library and read up about the Christian and Catholic religions pasts? The Church wanted to gain power over people. What do you think would be the best way to take down another group? I'd have to say, spreading rumors and lieing about them. Just because Chrisanity is a main religion, with millions of followers, doesn't make it perfect. And PS Christianity is derived from Catholosism. |

Yes, it began with all that, but it continues through ignorance. People do not bother to try to learn the truth. They just follow the old assumptions. Even true Satanists do not worship the Devil. - ladyladonna |

This is a old arguement. Ok, Christian's that know even the smallest amount about Wiccans know that they do not DIRECTLY worship Satan. BUT, you must remember to Christians either you worship the one true God, or you do not. Satan's greatest trump is religion. Whether one can see that or believe it is another thing. But, do not think this is simply a Christian view. There are quite a few other religions that are not cool with Wiccans. SUEDE |

Christians think any relgion but their own is the worship of satan.
Which is BS. Because there are religions WITHOUT the Satan figure. SO heres my query.
Wiccans = no devil
Christians = devil
If anything Christians worship the 'devil' because without 'him' they would have nothignt o base their religion on. |

SpaceBOrn< Eh, Christianity is based on God not the Devil. I think the 19th century poet Charles Baudelaire said it best when he said, "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled is convincing man that he didn't exist." Ah, how true. Remember, just because one doesn't believe in something, that does not cancel out it's actual existance. |

Ok, first of all Paganism is any religion that isn't Christianity, Islam, Judism and 2 others that I've forgotten... but basically, not all Pagans believe in a Goddess, or even in Magick. Technically Satanism is a form of Paganism, but you are quite correct in saying that Wiccans do not worship Satan. I think there are a couple of reasons that Christian believe Wiccan worship the devil. You have to remember that when Christianity was just starting, there were many Pagans (of the nature based kind). These Pagans didn't have the same ideas of sin and morals that the Christians had. Many of them did not want to change their ways so (in my opinion now) the Christians began to try to scare people into following their religion by threatening them with burning in enternal fire for worshipping what they called 'Demons' and 'Satan'. So basically, they considered the Pagan Gods and Goddesses something out of their 'hell'. Now please realize I'm not saying Christians these days do that sort of thing. Only that their priests did a long time ago. |

Oh, I forgot to mention the other reason. Some people are afraid of the idea of magick. That would give other humans power over their life, so it must be evil. |

Author 39350 love bug lol thats funny cause well umm im a true born satanst (soon to be a member of the curch of satan) And the Rev. Anton lavey's book states taht satan represents the carnal nature of man not the traditional being, he (it in reallity beucase he puit the term he to gain attention along with labeling his philosophy satanism) and that satan represents what is always been forbidden in the modern woirld such as, exploration of the mind body thrigh any means. So if satanism means that we worship satan cause it has the term satan in it and then if say if i m catholic that means i worship cats cause well its in the word right?
he also put that there to seperate those who are openminded from those who go with typical sterotypes.
the rev lavey set up the church with this specific name to have people who wanted to escape from the society that goes along with mindless sterotypes and who wanted to be philosophers and yet still be able to lvie a normal life and choose thier own path. And to show that things ie that were forbidden such as wicca, etc that they are not what they are said to be, yet we dont tell them to those who just want to know so that they can find things to create more sterotypes with, we give info to those who are willing to learn and share only then will they realize the truth.
Hail satan

I've asked myself this question many times. When I first told my b/f I was Wiccan he automatically thought that Satan was my "GOD". But I think it's because people relate Wicca with Witchcraft, and in the "old days" of the Salem witch trials. the withces were believe to get their power from satan... and I think that people have stuck to that notion, where it came before that I dunno. |

Why would christians spread lies if its a sin? Hmm luvbug, perhaps be/c sometimes ppl get so caught up in what they THINK is right, they forget they're wrong.
"I'll be a 'good' christian, and spread lies to stop those bad ole' witches!" So entangled in their blind hatred, they failed to realize the fact that they were sinning against their own faith. |

I hate stereotypes,it's like certain religious/spritual people think their belief is the one true one,when others think the same way.That why it's alway important to have an open mind.And each beleif in only true to that individual who believe in it and does not appaly to the rest of others. Preach in Mono, Not In Stereo. Love each other not judge. (as I like to say) |

actually, they do not worship the devil, christians like to think that any who do not follow their way, are devil worshippers, basically it because of the devils influence if you do not worship jesus. but one must remember, that christianity and judaism is not an old relgion, and was created much later than the true religions |
