Macy looked up into the blue sky and saw nothing, except for a few white puffy clouds. She closed her eyes and listened to the sound of her dad on his tractor across the lawn.
Macy and her family lived on a 15 acre farm in western Pennsylvania, not too far from the town of Beaver Falls. Their house was pretty large, but Macy was the youngest of four, and the other three were off at college. Macy was your average 14 year old girl: talked on the phone, and hung out with her friends and loved shopping. Her parents, Ron and Michelle were nearing fifty. They had built their home with Michelle's inheritance from a great uncle she had never known.
The past few nights, Macy had been having nightmares, something that hadn't happened often since she was very young. They involved a man wearing black walking around, and Macy being tied up against a wall. They scared Macy, but she thought nothing of it.
That afternoon was a warm day for early September. It was still warm enough to wear shorts out, but a little too cool to go swimming in the family pool. So, after school that day, Macy settled for jumping on the huge trampoline she had gotten for Christmas a couple years ago. After jumping for awhile, she got tired, and had lain down on the trampoline, where she was now, staring up at the sky.
Then she saw something moving in the sky past the barn. She tried to examine it closely for the few seconds she saw it. It wasn't a plane, she was sure of that. The object seemed circular, and zoomed past very quickly. She tried yelling out to her father about the object, but the noise of his tractor drowned out the sound of her voice. It was then she decided not to tell anyone about the mysterious object in the sky. It would be her little secret.
That night, she was getting ready to go to sleep when she heard a faint buzzing sound. She figured it was just one of parents downstairs in the kitchen. Macy then started reading a novel she had been reading for the past couple of weeks. After a half an hour, she got tired and turned off the light.
The next thing she heard was a tugging at her bedroom door, which she kept locked. She knew her mother and father would knock, so she knew it was someone else. The banging and pounding continued, and Macy didn't know what to do. She knew that if whoever it was got into her room, no one would hear her scream. So, Macy decided to make a run for it. She began tying sheets together, and opened the door to her balcony, tied the one of the sheets to the bedpost, and began sliding down. The sheet ended about ten feet from the ground, so slid as far down as she could, and dropped safely.
Macy began running down the driveway, towards the road, where she could flag down a car. Halfway down, she felt something grab her from behind and she felt a prick in the side of her neck.
Macy awoke to the inside of her barn in the loft. She peeked out of the little window and saw 20 or 30 things outside. They resembled people, but they were shaped a little different and their skin with a grayish color. Aliens. She had never really believed in them, but she didn't have a choice now. She had to find a way to escape. She reached up and touched the spot where she had been pricked with the needle. It was sore. She climbed down to the barn floor, and walked over to the door. It wouldn't budge. Macy tried the other door and it budged only a crack. She looked outside far enough to only see that there were 5 or so of the creatures outside.
Macy thought through her options. She obviously couldn't get out of the doors, and the window was too small and too far up to escape from. That left nothing. Suddenly, one of the doors below opened and an alien walked inside with a plate of food. He ascended up the ladder and stood next to Macy. He set down the plate beside her and told her to eat. Only, he didn't tell her. She heard his voice in her mind. He told her her parents were dead, and that she was their prisoner and would never escape. The alien went back down, and went out the door, shutting it and locking it tight.
Macy nibbled on a piece of cheese and thought about the situation. There didn't seem to be much hope. She thought about trying to cut a hole in the wooden wall, but since she didn't have anything to cut with, that was out of the question. Her eyes traveled up to the ceiling, where she spotted the vent. Why didn't she think of it before? She reached up to the vent and crawled out onto the roof, which was about 30 feet off of the ground. Now that she was free, she had nowhere to go.
She climbed back into the barn, and grabbed a piece of rope that her father kept there for emergencies. She tied it to the top of the vent, and slid down the back of the barn. She began running into the forest. Macy kept running and running, when suddenly she felt a sharp prick in her neck.
Macy opened her eyes to a sterile white room. She realized she was in the alien ship. She felt the ship move, and knew that it was taking off. Macy looked down at herself, sitting in the corner, and realized she was tied up. There was an alien walking around the room, and Macy realized that he was dressed in black.....
