I just want to take a minute to reflect on crime today. Two little girls were found murdered in the UK, a man and his wife were convicted. The details of the murders have not yet been released but it will probably have the basic elements of your twisted sick man who molestered them and strangled them. It is so so sad. Another man has come forward at 50 years old to say a preist molestered him 40 years ago at a camp, then sudddenly more and more come forward. Child molestation is still such a huge issue in the world today. So what makes a child molesterer? what makes a persons sexual drive so high that they cannot think clearly and they molest a little harmless, defenseless child? The thought is rather frightening. A mixture of childhood trauma, genetic mutations and simple sexual drive makes these monsters. The finer details and the cause of the behaviour is so complex. I wonder if they will ever find out what really makes a person molest or kill. While these mentally derranged people are growing in numbers and while the police are getting less and less clues to convict them, there is no telling whether a cure will be found. We need a warning system. some basic symptoms to go by, something that makes us realise exactly what some people are capable of. The world is not covered in a sugar coated topping. These sick people live amungst us every minute of everyday, and we may never know what they have done, want to do or even plan to do to our children. How it changed my life:Criminology is something I am very interested in and I feel people should stick together more in times of grief and more information is required to warn communities of the dangers out there. Sexual preditors are out there and are looking for a way to make their urges go away. The psychological understanding is vital before we can stop them.
