If he gave back one dollar to each, he gave back three dollars. And if he kept two, by my math, 3+2=5 :D |

no... ur going about it in the wrong way. They each spent aproximately $8.33... (25/3). They only spent $25... not $27. He took two dollars. He gave them back 3 dollars. 25+3+2=30 I feel all smart and stuff |

kay... each of them spent 8.33. he gave them all a dollar back... so that's 9.33. 9.33x3 is about $28. so he kept the 2 dollars... seems right. :) now i can finally stop thinking about it. good riddle :) |

If you look at it another way, 30 minus the 3 return is 27 plus the 2 he kept is still only 29! - ladyladonna |
