Okay, I'll find some words.......*takes a breath*....You should have been there to see my face when I opened your card! This afternoon after I got home from the doctor's, I ran into the mailman on my way out to my truck. I was headed for work. He handed me my mail and we chatted then I left. I got to work I found the card between the other mail so I quickly opened it...... Then I screamed!!! You've made my remaining life a total joy!! Thank you so so much for the check, Cat. You said in the card, "Please do something nice for yourself, like get a massage, or pedicure, or dinner at a nice restaurant?" ...Geeze Cat, I don't know what kind of massages you get or restaurants YOU go to...wow!! Well, I sat there and thought and thought about what to do with it. Then the phone rang and a co-worker handed it to me saying it was my doctor. He said, "Karen, your alpha-feto protein levels have tripled from 2 weeks ago. This means the tumors are spreading or growing bigger. We must schedule you to go over to Seattle in the next couple weeks to the Cancer Insitute at the University so we can do something to slow this down. They MAY help you to live another year or more if we catch it now"...So I agreed. Then, in walks my wonderful friend, Sal, (with his big smile) and I told him about it. Guess what? The Cancer Institute will fly me and whomever I choose over there round-trip..."for free." Then pick us up and take us back in a limo to and from the airport and put us up in a nice hotel (2 rooms). I think they even provide meals. This is over a 2-3 day period. Sal says, "I would go with you to the ends of the earth, Karen" (I think he means till the end of my life and that makes me feel better). I guess you can have plenty of leisure time after the testing is done. Sooooo, I banked the check and Sal is going to put away some money too....and we'll have a wonderful time in Seattle for 2-3 days!! The money will be perfect!!! I can't thank you enough my dear friend. Not so much for the money, as the genuine loving person you have shown yourself to be, over and over. Your heart is as big as the all out doors!! Just had to tell you this and let others know not all internet friends are deceitful or fake. This site has put me in touch with Catherine and many others that do not have one counterfeit bone in their bodies.... I Love you Catherine! Thank you for being there for me.
