Oh my gosh, I can not imagine what the 2200's would be like! We as a society have definitley changed and I don't know if we are getting better or if we are getting worser, it's hard to say. I think after 9-11-01, we have definitley been closer and more affected in our lives. I just hope that we will get better as time changes.  |

around 100 years ago if you were over 25 and unmarried you were considered a spinster and would never marry, you often had your first child before you hit 18 it was common to be married before your 16th Birthday..you wouldn't dare leaving your house with your skirt above your ankle then in years that changed the 50's brought the skirt up to the knee the 80's-90's brought out the mini and the tube top... things will hit a point it can't get much shorter and tighter then things will switch around becuase it can't get any worse and schools now have to have a dress code you can't get a somewhat respectable job and wear the skimpy flashy tight clothing items Teenages got pregnant in the 50's it just wasen't talked about and the parents pushed the child to be married. We as a culture have opened up and taken things out of the closet what is good in some ways but bad in some others  |

Some morals have not changed ... guys are still cool for having sex while girls are often frowned upon .. it depends on where you are from i guess.  |

I have to believe that something went wrong somewhere. I remember as a teen in the 70s that having sex was the last thing on my mind. But then again I had a mother and father who put the fear of doing wrong in me. If I had to blame it on anything it would be the break down of the family unit. The divorce rate kept rising and single parent families became the norm. Most of these single parents had to work or be on welfare which left alot of kids to fend for themselves in poverty. These kids grew up without any structure and discipline because of the guilt and bitterness the adults had over lifes circumstances. No one seemed to care anymore or if they did care they didn't do anything but whine about it. All of a sudden it was child abuse to spank your child. Kids got spoiled by weekend dads. TV, Music and Movies became more explicit because "sex and violence sells" People stopped going to church and values went out the window. Children learn by example and unfortunately the examples they were given sucked. But most of all it was the lack of fear of any serious consequences for their actions. Now when a 12 year old gets pregnant its "poor Suzy" or when a kid gets into drugs it's "an adiction, an illness" There's too much sympathy and not enough Good old fashioned butt kicking. IMO  |
