CLEANEST CRAFT AROUND :)..............................~SpaceCase

I've found what has to be the cleanest, easiest, most satisfying craft around...SOAP MAKING!!! :)

First, you can find your materials, such as glycerine, scent, coloring, and molds at any local craftstore, such as Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Crafts Etc.

When you get home, you will be pleased to find that the simple steps take only minutes...

1. Melt the desired amount of glycerine in a microwave-safe measuring cup (very easy to cut) 40 seconds to 1 min. 10 seconds, depending on amount

2. Add a few drops of a soothing scent

3. Maybe add a few pinches of color

4. Maybe add a few pinches (per bar)of soap texture (such as crushed apricot seed) also found in the soap making section

5. pour it into your molds...

The biggest thing for me is mess and clean up...well folks, we're talkin' soap here...all you have to do is add water to your measuring cup and give it a little scrub and you are done.

20-40 minutes later, you have pretty homemade soap bars to use or give as gifts!!!

Date: 9/7/2002 7:48:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 53836    welcome dear...it is really satisfying...and I have already made 5 scented bars...since tomorrow is Grandparents Day and I go to church with both sets, I am giving them each two and still have one bar for myself..they are soooo pretty, and they have little flowers on top that I colored separately (golden) leaving the remaining bottom of the bar an off-white color with camomile scent:)
