Poking at me in fun
Teasing
Taunting
Just waiting for a
Lapse in concentration
In strength
So it can take me
Like a red hot poker
Stabbing every square inch
Of skin
As if testing me
To see if I am ready
To be consumed
With ailing hands
I struggle to hold on every day
My grasp on everything
I hold dear
Grows weaker
Images surrounding me
Willing me
Helping me
But no one can fight death
But me….
