I have mice again!!!!!! HELP.......

Okay, I've had mice once before. I live in the inner city and I know they are common. But I have gotten rid of them once before ( or so I thought ). I have them again and I dont know how to get rid of them without spending a tremendous amount of money that I dont have. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get rid of them and prevent them from coming back. I keep a clean house but I guess that doesnt matter. Good thing I'm not afraid of them. lol. Thanks....chickywoo.

Date: 9/23/2002 7:11:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 58416    I did the poison pellets last time and they sort of worked. I put them in my ceiling because thats where I heard them. EWWWW. I've never heard of the sticky pads. I'll have to look for them. Thanks....chickywoo.
Date: 9/23/2002 7:13:00 PM  From Authorid: 20702    chickywoo, I worked in a Health Food Store here awhile back and a man came in for Peppermint Oil. They put it on cotton balls and put them in their attic and basement to get rid of mice. He swears by this stuff working. It must be pure peppermint oil to work. Hope it does. Peace to All...Angelreader
Date: 9/23/2002 7:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 49639    You got to put the pellets everywhere you can think they might be. They eat that stuff up and it worked great for me. Good luck.
Date: 9/23/2002 7:17:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 58416    Peppermint oil hmmmm. Sounds interesting, I'll have to try that also. Thanks...chickywoo.
Date: 9/23/2002 8:11:00 PM  From Authorid: 10245    The peppermint oil thing works! And it makes your house smell like a giant candycane Poison scares me... especially with kids in the house and those sticky pads are extremely inhumane (in my opinion...) what do you do with the rodent once it's stuck? Usually toss it and starve it to death. I like traps! The kind that snap. Quick and nearly painless... much more humane... but try the peppermint oil

Date: 9/23/2002 9:19:00 PM  From Authorid: 47699    I had mice once but my doctor just recommended a good laxative. I know my stomach feels a whole lot better now. My cousin, William, once had worms. We all laughed and called him, 'wormy Willy.' He committed suicide not long after that.
Date: 9/23/2002 10:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 53427    I'm going to have to try that peppermint oil thing myself. I don't have any mice now, but I have in the past and it is a huge pain. I tried everything. The only thing that worked finally was using the poison but I hate to do that with young kids in the house. If it happens again I'm trying that peppermint oil.
Date: 9/24/2002 5:57:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 58416    I agrre Mercury. When I used the poison I put it up in my drop ceilings. I have a child and cat and I was afraid to put it anywhere elses. I like the peppermint oil suggestion though. chickywoo.

Date: 9/24/2002 6:03:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 58416    Yes I do have a cat but unfortunately he has no claws. I got him that way. He has caught mice before, but I dont think they are afraid of him anymore lol.
Date: 9/25/2002 10:28:00 AM  From Authorid: 55673    I think that the pads are inhumane too. You can't get him off so he just starves. I've heard of the perperment oil but for spiders and bugs. Pellets have always worked for me though. Good luck
Date: 9/26/2002 7:04:00 PM  From Authorid: 58400    I have 1 tint little field mouse in my kitchen..but i won't let my dad kill it..just because i think it's wrong!! GC GravityGirl GC
Date: 9/27/2002 8:00:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 58416    I know how you feel. I dont want to kill them either but in the same sense they have to go. I have more than one. We live close to the lake so it's common, especially since the weather is chilly now. At least it's not rats EEWWWWW. chickywoo
