Please help.

I recently met a guy through a friend. I dont know him very well at all but he told my friend he wants to see me again and he likes me. The only problem with this is he has a girlfriend type figure who wouldnt mind beating the u kno what outta me if she found out he was even hanging out with another girl. He says he doesnt care about her because she "starts to much drama" and wants to find someone new..I was wondering if you see him leaving his current "girlfriend" an if anything will happen between us. right now it doesnt matter much to me if he wants me or not, but I want to know if this is going to be something i will regret later on. any advice you can give will be more than helpful.
