One Too Many!.........Lauren ( A poem with a story/moral)

I went to a party planning to have fun
I drank a beer, the party had begun
I talked, laughed, chatted with friends
Discussed gossip, and the latest trends

Morning came rolling around
Me and my friends were homeward bound
I turned the curve flying high
No intentions at all to die

I made it, but barely missed a tree
There must of been an angel with me.
Another curve came, I was doing fine
But I didn't see the stop sign

By God's grace the coast was clear
And with that I am still here
I was almost home nearing my street
Couldn't of been more than a couple hundred feet

Didn't see a car coming towards me
My vision was blurred I couldn't see
We crashed, and it knocked me out
The next I heard was my friend shout

I couldn't get to her my legs wouldn't go
In the distance sirens began to blow
The paramedics came and took us away
"Please let us live, God" I pray

I awake to a room there isn't a sound
I get up and start to walk around
I'm horrified to see bodies everywhere
I spot a body and start to stare
That is my friend lying there.
I start to cry and hold her near.

I'm so sorry for what i've done
This wasn't at all my idea of fun
As i'm hugging her I see
A girl that looks an awful lot like me

I come closer and it's now all clear
I have passed away i'm no longer here
All that has happened I cannot grasp
I didn't think my life would end so fast

Now me and my friend are both gone from the world
Never again to be seen never to be heard
I thought I was fine it was just one beer
Didn't think there was a problem, nothing to fear
I came to find I had one too many beer
