I am 28 and still don't have any gray hair. But they say if you pull them you will get 2 in it's place. So don't pull them out. |

I've been dying my hair since I was 21. I'm 34 now and if it wasn't for the dye, I'd be 60% gray. Hooray for Loreal!!!!! SilentsStar |

I don't have any grey hairs just yet, but that doesn't mean I can't relate to what you're going through, Midnightly. You see, I was born blonde and over the years it went from a white blonde to a golden medium blonde and I started noticed around the age of 19 that with each passing year, in my hair, instead of greys, I have been getting more and more jet black hairs creeping in. I guess I always assumed that as I aged it would turn back into the lighter, more whitish looking blonde tone but natch... apparently from what I've heard from some others that's not how it works. It seems instead that for many blondes, as the years pass it simply continues to get darker and darker looking more and more brown with black hairs peppered in and then after this it does finally begin to grey and then turn white.. who knew?! I've thought about dying my hair to lighten the tones back to the color I'm accustomed to, but I don't want to damage my hair and as anyone knows when you go lighter you are actually stripping your hair follicles of their natural pigment and I'm afraid of what the consequences would be for such an action. Most who have dyed their hair never do get the original color back again, and end up feeling like they HAVE to keep dying it in order to keep the look they want. I dunno ... whatcha gonna do, huh? I guess I prefer to age gracefully with some resistance along the way..hee hee hee, but just know, you're not alone.. I can relate very much. Much love, hugs, kisses, and the very best of luck, hopes, and wishes to you and to ALL! -KQ a.k.a. |
