Darlin, Maybe you broke it. I've broken my arms 3 times. The second time, when I broke my wrist, I thought it was just sprained and went around using it for 3 days like normal, cuz my dad said it would help it get better. We went to get it x-rayed when the swelling didn't go down, and, HAHA, it was broken. AND I had to remain Casted for 3 extra weeks because I continued to use it, and displaced the bone worse. My suggestion, SEE A Doctor before it gets too bad, if you haven't already!! Erin- |

Ouch, Emmie! Im sorry you had to go through that... And actually, no they don't excuse you from P.E. here... and I can hardly wiggle my toes.. I can't do it as psychotically as I used to be able to, but they still kind of function. |

I haven't seen a doctor, and I don't think I will. I have a feeling my HMO will just tell me to bound it to a popsicle stick and stay off of it for a day. |

LOL... Yeah, and you'll be slapping yourself over the head later if you come to find it is broken and you've been walking on it. Seriously, I'd get it checked out. The pain sounds like that of a fracture. But if it is broken, and you didn't go check it out, I'll laugh at you, no, just kidding, I won't. Erin- |

Hehe, I'll laugh at me too... I just told Bloodstone in AIM that I think its a hairline fracture + snapped muscle.. then its gonna get an abcess and get gangrene and I'll be an amputee.. Ugh, I'm gonna die if they cut my foot off and I can never dance again.. |

So go to the doctor. Getting an x-ray isn't as bad as it sounds, and you might get some fun pain killers :-D!!! Wait... I didn't just say that ;) heehee. Erin- |

A few months ago I experienced the same thing you did only I fell down 4 stairs adn landed the same way you did. It really did not hurt at first at all. About 3 hours later I could not stand on it at all. A few weeks went by before all teh swelling and pain went away. I wrapped it in an ace bandage and that helped with the pain since I could not move it. I have a feeling yours is either a very bad sprain or a fracture. Not all fractures are teh sma e but just a little advice if it is broken and heals badly and then you go to the doctor they could have to rebreak it. They had to do that to my husband when he broke his hand. He waited for a few days and it was starting to grow back and they rebroke it. He said it hurt worse tehn when he broke it the first time. Anyhow hope it is not broken try to stay off of it as muchas possible and wrap it up when you do have to walk on it to keep it from moving. Also GO SEE A DR!!!!! |

if there is swelling and brusing and it hurts when you move it.. there is a good chance it is broken... if you wait too long to get it fixed it can heal wrong... |

Just an FYI... I hurt my ankle it swelled, I could barely move my toes, and I didn't get it checked out... two weeks later still unable to move the toes much and massive pain, I finally went to the doc... they did the x rays and sure nuff I had broken it and been walking on it... to which they said too bad nothing we can do now!! It was nine months before I had full use of it and I still cannot wear spike shoes any more cuz of the pain! (years later still can't wear my favorite shoes)... PLEASE be smart and get it checked out :) |
