It seems like it happened yesterday
When I thought I knew everything
It all seems to have taken a new way
Now I'm unable to grip anything
It's been years and I'm trying to grow
Although these converses show the kid in me
Headed down a rugged path on my own
I'm unsure of just who I want to be
I'll let the wind blow through my hair
As I step out into this world on my own
Making choices everyday that I breathe
To stand beside you and know I'm not alone
I know I was a mistake that you chose to keep
Even though my own father walked away
Well mother I try to stay in line
