Yesterday my friend and I went to a Hoobastank concert. We got there really early, stood in the bitter Iowa October coldness for an hour surrounded by this group of nicotine crazed 13-year-olds, and finally were let in. If there were "rows" then we were in the fourth row, center stage. After another long wait, the first opening act Greenwheel went on, and for the first time ever I was in the center of a mosh pit. I don't think any of you know me that well, but I am not anything close to a moshing girl... I'm more of the "stand still and listen shyly" type, I have even been known to dance a bit. Call me crazy, but I didn't think there would be a mosh pit at a Hoobastank concert, especially not in Iowa. WRONG! After one song by Greenwheel, some guy was crowd surfing, unbeknownst to me, and he got dropped on my head, causing me to bight my tongue which then started bleeding. My friend got kicked in the face and her hair was tangled up in everyone, while my face was immovably smashed into some girls back. My hand was stuck on her as well in a very bad spot...hehehe...ew. Well, I lost my shoe and my jacket, which I did find later, and I thought my ribs were about to break! Then my friend, whose head was smashed on my shoulder, told me she didn't feel good, so somehow we managed to squeeze out to the far left of the front row, where I sat the entire concert. I thought it was probably the worst show I ever went to, but then I got to meet Greenwheel which was the best band there. So I got their autographs and Blindside's autoghraphs, and I am now back to normal. I go to an Everclear concert on Tuesday... we'll see how that goes! Hehe.
