I know I should know this, but I don't. lol

What's the difference between too and to? When should you use each? I'm tired of getting them wrong, lol. Thanks

Date: 10/20/2002 9:55:00 PM  From Authorid: 20956    I cant explain it, but here are sentance examples:

TO -> "I am going TO the shop"

TOO -> "Can he come TOO?"

Date: 10/20/2002 10:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 23610    Here's how it was explained to me in school. If you can use the word "also" instead of "too" then it is spelled too. (Example: Mary had apple pie and John did too (also).) The other time it is used is when you are saying something like "I ate too much"....or..."That room was too bright."
Date: 10/20/2002 10:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 36901    To is used as a function word to indicate application or attention ex: I am going to bed now. The word too can be substituted for the words very, so and also ex: You did too! (so) You don't seem too interested. (very) or I want to go too (also). I hope this helps a little.
Date: 10/20/2002 10:41:00 PM  From Authorid: 5252    'too' is used to express like too much of something. an excess... ex. we put too much ice cream in the cup.
Date: 10/21/2002 4:55:00 AM  From Authorid: 23886    What they said ^ LOL
Date: 10/21/2002 12:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 47699    'Too' means 'also'. "I want some of those too." You know what the other word means. "I'm going to go outside." "I need to go to the store."
Date: 10/21/2002 12:18:00 PM  From Authorid: 47699    'Too' can also mean an excess such as "I have too much free time on my hands."
