Unfortunatly as always with these things minoritys are hurting the majority. Because someone dresses like something that can be easily be labelled the whole sub culture cops the force of it. People in these sub cultures should publicly condemn the actions that some of these people take. It is only then that the majority of people will take notice.  |

alright maybe not a RELIGION, but they still have their own culture and that site said religion too so..yeah thats why i said it. but the point is they don't have the rights to try to change these people, it really makes me mad. i think all stereotypes and labels in general are ridiculous.  |

Good finally people have came to there senses. Goths aren't doing anything positive in our culture. All they do is promote being an outcast and "different". I'm prep and seen Goths doing just as worse as you say "preps" do.  |

Well, I'm living for the moment. It's what I like and I personally think I look good when I dress like this. Of course, you have a right to your opinion and I'll keep mine. Have you ever spoke to a goth? All the ones I've ever had conversations with are very sweet, intelligent people. I think that you'd change your mind if you met some of the people I know. But maybe not. I don't want to argue with you, so I'm going to finish this off with saying that I just don't think that it's right to oppress people. It reminds me of the persecution of the Jews and the Burning Era. I don't agree with oppression. |

Big Tex, I think you are being very close-minded, because you met a few Goths you didn't like, you decide to despise every single goth? I have met some goth who were some of the sweetest people I've ever met, and I've met some that I just couldn't stand, same for preps, I have friends of all types of "cultures" I guess you could say, including Goths and preps. And are you saying that Goths cant be athletic, smart, goods students and have alot of friends? Im considered a goth, I'm pretty athletic for a girl, I get very good grades, I always try to do my best in school, and I have plenty of good friends..You seem to be judging every goth from a few "Bad apples" everyone has the bad apples that makes the good ones look bad, goth, punks, preps, everyone. Please, don't despise thousands of people just because you met a few "bad apples".  |

I agree completely with Moon Angel. I may not be athletic, but I make up for that with my grades and my artwork. Yeah, it is close-minded to hate a large subculture just because of someone else. You just have to let the past go and you are missing out on a lot of great friends if you decide to be close-minded and hold hatred within yourself. Just try to accept others. |

I see these "goths" at my daughter's high school all the time. DARK makeup, DARK hair, DARK clothes - ripped jeans and plether overcoats in 90 degree Florida weather. I am a writer by vocation, and I feel no need to dress "differently" because I'm "Creative". And how is it "different" if EVERYONE ELSE is dressing that way? Sorry, but it sounds like a bunch of rich kids with too much time on their hands and who'se parents don't pay attention to what they listen to on the radio. If these are the intellectuals among teens today, it is amazing how behind the times the avant garde have become. alright, this is ridiculous....big tex, just because you are gothic doesnt mean you're an 'outcast'. there are good and bad people in all 'cliques' or whatever you'd want to call them and you can't judge all of them by a few bad ones. and also..just because you're goth doesnt mean that you are artistic and creative because people that are preps or whatever can also be that. regardless of the negativity its faced with, goth IS a culture and has just as much right as anyone else to be themselves and express themselves how they want to and they shoujldnt be discriminated for it |
