Lets see...They're used to contact dead people. It's really dangerous to ask a spirit to do something. It unleashes (for lack of a better word) them from wherever they are, and chances are they stay in the general area that you use to board in. I recommend not using a board. I have a few bad experiences I'd only share in private.  |

its dangerous to carry a weapon with you when you are using a ouija board. and be careful who you contact with. never ask when your going to die. and when you put up the ouija board make sure you go over "goodbye" so you dont let any evil spirits out.  |

There are lots of troubled spirits out there in the spirit world who are eager to communicate via Ouija boards. Occasionally, it is said, that demons will drop by for a visit....and maybe start haunting your home.  |

It is safe to use if you know what you're doing. If you are unexperienced you should do it with others before you do it alone. The only dangers I know of is that you can open a portal into your house and let evil spirits in, also if you use it alone you can also get possessed if you don't know what you are doing. Thing usually do happen when you use an Ouija board and I guess people should know that when they use the board. So if something does happen to you should ask yourself 'Is this spirit good or evil?' because they might just want your help. I am going by what I had read and what little experience I have had, that said heres what I understand. Ouija board,is a form of channeling spirits, there are many ways to do this, do a reading search for spiritualism pratices of the 1920s. before there was a board it was a mediums tool called ask the glass, this was a system where by all the letters of the alphabet, numbers from 1-0 the 0 being after 9, and the words yes, no, and goodbye, places in a circle using little cards or the tiles from a scrabble game. In the Center is a glass where two or more place a hand. The questions are asked and a patient wait for a response. The spritualism seances became so poplular that someone had the bright idea to make a board of it and sell it as a parlor game,and cash in on what quite afew thought was a scam. The joke was on them, when people were actually having links to the spirit world. The notoriety had the boards selling very fast. Others wanting to cash in made their own board styles in fact you can still get a custom board made to day. The notion of the the board being linked to the devil was basically created by the 1970s movie Witchboard, and Many Preachers capitalize on the fear of ouija boards. The best way to play a channeling board, which is the real term for a ouija, is a "possitive mindset" if you go at it with the thought ,lets see if it will scare me? Is it no surprize that you get exactly that. The second step is having someone to work the board who shares the possitive idea of a good session, if not then you would have nothing happening because its like having one foot on the gas and the other on the brakes. Third, its a great idea to Pray for protection (yes,I am serious) to any God that is of your faith and request your Guardian Angel to protect your session from negative spirits. Third, visualize a ball of white light surrounding both of you and the board. The horror stories usually comes from people who, 1. expected the horror before they even started. 2. used no protections what so ever. 3. they drank booze and or drugs before and during a session, then surprize a psychic attack and posession happens. This is very rare, thank God. If you have a negative feeling, stop the session by saying good bye and move the planchete to good bye, and ask your Guardian Angel and the ArchAngel Michael to banish the entity, and then burn sage incense to remove the lingering negativity through out the house.  |

your right. they are scary, but everyone has to admit they are fun, but they're not safe. i used to be one of those kids who played with the ouija board for fun, but really it's a way the devil can talk to you. one time these guys decided to video tap themselves playing the board. When they watched it they had devil horns on them and all kind weird stuff. i don't think you should play it, but if you do be careful.  |
